This DVD is loved by my whole family, but for some reason it is hard to find. We spent a whole month tracking down a used copy. It was worth it.
We love the slapstick comedy with the classic actors Glenn Close as Cruella De Ville and Gerard Depardieu as the furrier, La Pelt. Ioan Gruffudd of Fantastic4 fame is a pleasure to watch as the lovable dog shelter owner who is struggling to keep stray dogs off the street. Eric Idle from Monte Python is hilarious as the voice of Waddlesworth the macaw who believes he is a Rottweiler. There is so much more to this movie than just cute puppies. There are great actors, too. It's good clean fun for the whole family.
The previews from every movie ever made before this movie was the reason for it's purchase. "Mom, it's another puppy movie... can we get it???" Finally I caved. I do wish I'd watched it or talked with the kids before we watched it together. I should have been prepared for the impact that a "live" Cruella would have on 4 and 3 year olds, but wasn't there for some reason. A simple discussion would have resolved it, so be prepared if your children are young. If they are school age, pop it in and enjoy~ it's a REALLY CUTE MOVIE. No matter what the age of your children, the story is great and the puppies are AMAZINGLY ADORABLE!!!
Have never had the opportunity to see this film so I was anxious to not only see it but add it to my Disney DVD collection. I wasn't disappointed...laughed and enjoyed it. Even watched it a 2nd time with my 3 year old granddaughter who loves puppies. Great entertainment for the family.
I AM BUYING THIS DVD FOR MY 3 YEAR OLD SON. HE ALREADY HAS 101 DALMATIONS AND HE JUST POSITIVELY LOVES IT. THE THING THAT I LIKE MOST ABOUT 102 DALMATIONS IS THAT IT HAS GLENN CLOSE IN IT AS CRUELLA DEVILLE, AND THEY USE ACTUAL REAL DOGS AND PUPPIES IN IT INSTEAD OF ANIMATED ONES. IT IS A TRULY ENTERTAINING FILM FOR YOUNG AND OLD ALIKE.
102 dalmations is hysterically funny. It is about Oddball a dalmation who doesn't have spots and goes looking everywhere for them. Cruella de Ville is supposed to be rehabilitated and gets out of the hospital. She gets involved with a pet store owner and the results are both tragic and comic. This is very much a family movie. You will laugh until you cry when you watch it.
i like the glenn close versions of the dalmations movies very much...i think almost better than the original animated ones. this movie was cute...i like seeing close in wacky roles such as this and the puppies are so cute too. my kids love it too...animated or not. it was an easy movie to watch with the little ones.
a must for any disney movie collection!
This movie is okay, and Glenn Close is again the perfect Cruella. But on the whole it wasn't nearly the movie that the first one was. There's no Roger, Anita, Horace, or Jasper. And the addition of a talkative parrot who thinks he's a dog doesn't begin to make up for it.
Loved the movie watched it four times in a row with my grandkids: Would highly recommend this Dvd. Great Doggie movie kids loved it from start to finish!
I am not a fan of sitting through Disney movies, but this one was different. It had lots of action, Glenn Close was great as a bad guy. Of course the puppies were adorable. AAA+++
Disney second try at turning another classic cartoon into real life. It is a fun time to be enjoyed by all and the Parrot acting as a dog is just hillarious.
