This book is a spell-binding read. Having grown up in the Jim Crow South and a life-long fan of college basketball I had only recently learned of this clandestinely played game. This book brought everything into focus. The backgrounds of the players, coaches, institutions, and social mores of the time were just as great a story as the actual game itself. I read this as a library book but was so moved I bought a copy to pass along to friends. The author did an incredible amount of research to recreate and event which occurred 70+ years ago. This is a GREAT story
