I had a univeral replacement keypad from a different manufacturer and when the temperature went below freezing, it did not function at all. After doing a little research, it turns out almost all the keypads manufactured today have motherboards assembled in Mexico, and they tend to suffer from cold solder joints. So far, thisCraftsman keypad has worked great even in 20 degree weather. Highly recommend a brand new genuine Craftsman keypad, but they are getting harder to find.

Product package description of what it will work with is a little iffy. Per my remote button color it wasn't supposed to work. Per the date of mfg of my openers it would. Go to Sears parts website and look up your opener and look for the accessories and get the new part number. That verified it would work with mine. Anyway, works as described and I can get into the garage without unlocking the side entry door or going into the house to use the remote in there.

This garage door opener works just as well as my original. Its bright at night and easy to operate. My kids tell me that you must press the buttons in the center of the pad to open the door.
