I think these dumbbells are manufactured by pouring concrete into molded vinyl shells. You can see the plug on the side where they poured in the concrete. In shipping, there is no padding between the weights, so the vinyl tends to break and tear at the center hole, and the concrete is exposed. The tears in my weights were small, like 1/4" by 3/4" or less on each weight. I just spread some epoxy glue over the damaged areas. You really wouldn't have to repair them if you don't mind a little exposed concrete and torn vinyl. It would be nice if they put cardboard between the weights to prevent shipping damage. Regardless, this is a great, simple weight set at an unbelievably low price. I received mine incredibly fast. I think it was within two days of placing the order. This weight set is an excellent value.Read full review

Hey, I wanna let you know this was my first buying my own actual weight set that was over 5 pounds. Never before have I assembled a dumb bell. Yet this, was easy! I could customize my weight options with interchangable plates. Lifting never felt better, I can feel it almost right away. I recommend this for beginners, intermidate, and even experienced lifters. Its cheap, its effciant. What more can ya want?

Just what i needed for a light training session at home. There is 2.5 and 7.5 pounds weight, so you can vary up to 20 pounds each. The weight are not perfectly thight on the rod, but it is not a big deal when you look at the price.

Pretty good quality. Has a professional look but don't drop it because the plastic might not handle the impact.
