Yes it's made of plastic - but others are made of less sturdy plastic and are smaller and poorly constructed. Pros: No Hinges. The two pieces securely lock together. Sturdy Plastic. No you can't drive a car on it, but it will stand up to some abuse. Big. This board is bigger than the imitations that sell for around 1/2 the price. It will also sink into thick carpeting, preventing any wobble or instability. Still small enough to take with you or store. Wrists - I bought this to do pushups while enabling me to keep wrists straight - less wrist pain. Comes with a heavily laminated sheet of exercises and workouts. Yeah, youtube exists, but still a nice touch. Cons: It's costs more than many knock-offs. But you get what you pay for.
