There are a lot of l...ittle reasons in my video collection that has kept a VCR in my home for so many years, this movie is a prime example of one of them. I like it so much, I wish that it would someday come out on DVD, however, seeing as it came out in 1990 the odds of this occuring are a little low. It is on my list of what to add to my collection if it ever does come to disk though, as it is one of the movies I bring up in conversation whenever the topic of vampire movies comes up. Oh well, on to why this movie is so good and should not only be watched, but why it should be not only a part of your video collectin, but also a reason for you to buy a VCR/DVD dual player. It is that good and here's a rundown as to the reason why: I found this movie a few years ago at a small town local video store that was going out of business. You know the score: big busieness driving them out, not enough income to keep up on skyrocketing rent prices, and all of this was also before Netflix started flexing its muscles, not to mention at the time gas prices were on their way to breaking the three dollar a gallon barrier, now its close to four dollars. Anyway, this store is going out of business, with Blockbuster and Hollywood video still going strong just down the road, and all I could do was stare at all of these priceless treasures on VHS format for sale at fifty cents a pop. Needless to say, I walked out with my trunk full that night, their register was a little better off that night, and this was one of the gems I found there. I got it originally for the cover art, then I watched the film itself, what a thriller. This is a twisted little piece of magnetic media, very different from alot of the stuff that came out at that time. I do not know if it was direct to video or not, I have never been able to find that out from my research. I do know that I cannot even find this on an obscure region two DVD edition. I have loaned this to friends for years now and I get back nothing but praise for having this vampire movie in my collection. Let me tell you a little about it. SPOILER ALERT!!! BEYOND THIS POINT IS THE SPELLED OUT DETAILS OF WHAT HAPPENS!!! YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!!! Girls are turning up dead in L.A. The number is unspecified, but there have been alot of them. Enough to draw the curiosity of a man named Michael Fury, a european of unspecified origin across the Atlantic ocean to California and to enlist the services of a local detective agency to help him find this killer. Arriving in town he meets up with his contact, a woman named Lori (a fiery and alluring Pamela Ludwig, a lovely lass who previously co-starred with Hauser in the post-nuke sci-fi/action film "Dead Man Walking"), a diligent, energetic, outgoing private detective. After being escorted to his temporary lodgings in town rented for him by Lori, Michael begins his investigation, where he finds a man filming a dead body.
