I ...had been eyeing this Kuerig coffe maker for some time and finally decide to purchase one. I have friends and family who bought and love theirs. From day one I was in love with this brewer, and loved the ease of using it, the taste of the coffee, being able to choose a variety of coffees, and the lack of mess and wasting coffee. The kuerig is really a great invention. However, I have just had my kuerig for one month now and already have had probelms with it. The top needle has clogged up several times and it prevented the brewer from brewing correctly. We did call customer service at keurig and they walked us through cleaning the top needle, because this process was not explained in the owner's manual. I only brew coffees and not anything else, so I was real concerned how soon I had problems and how often the top needle clogs. We were told that the problem happens when you do not quickly remove the k cups after each use, so we have done that faithfully. It seems that even so, some types of k cup coffees make the top needle clog often anyway. This really is a great machine and I hope for the price it holds up for years, but I have read in other reviews online that some have had to have them replaced several times in a years time. It will break my heart if this is true because I'm hooked ha. I also liked the idea of having the personal kcup to add your own coffee, but unfortunately the coffee I love is gevalia and it does not work in my kcup because the grounds are too fine. Fortunately, there are many of the kcup coffees that I have tried and love. I will still keep a standard coffee brewer around to use in emergencys because mine has clogged three times in the month I have had it and it takes a while to clean the clog and run it through several hot water cycles. I want to say that I take excellent care of my keurig machine and read the owner's manual from top to bottom and follow all guidelines, so I was quite upset (and still am) about having so many probelms with it clogging. Again, the owner's manual does not trouble shoot the process for cleaning the top needle so you have to call and have customer service walk you through it. Due to the fact that I am having such problems with the brewer with just normal use of brewing coffee kcups, I give this a 4 star instead of 5.
I decided to buy the Keurig B70 because I live in a... household in which I'm the only coffee drinker and I was tired of throwing out left over coffee everyday. The main reason I chose this model over the earlier versions is that I liked the fact that the B70 has 4 brew sizes to choose from. I love how easy it is to use and how there is virtually no clean up. The only complaints that I have are (1)the K cups that are available are fine when used with the smallest and second to the smallest brew sizes but it leaves the second largest and largest sizes way too weak and watery. I haven't tried the My K Cup (this lets you use your own coffee)to see how a stronger coffee will work. And(2)The hot cocoa is not good at all. I have tried it with all 4 brew sizes with a very poor results(tastes like water - not chocolate at all). Hopefully, the makers of the K cups will improve on these matters in time. All in all I'm happy with my purchase and would recommend it to others.
When my husband and I PCS'd we had to stay in a hote...l and the hotel had mini keurig machines. I have been wanting one for a while and finally talked hubby into getting one when he saw how good it worked. I am a bargain shopper so I waited for sales, checked out reviews and everything to try and get the best deal. I got a used one and just made my first cup of coffee. It works great. There are settings for iced tea and hot coffee. which I LOVE! It was worth the money I spent on it. Because i got it used it doesnt have the instruction book but its pretty easy to navigate thru the menu. The only thing i have noticed is that my coffee cools down VERY fast. I am about half way thru the medium cup size and it has gone from HOT to warm. Hopefully there is a way to adjust the temp or something and i didnt get a defective machine.
The Keurig glows blue: the water dispenser,... and the buttons. The LCD display is backlit. It takes approximately one minute for the water to be ready to brew. The Keurig has a removable drip tray to accommodate travel mugs and comes in two colors: black and purplish. The Keurig allows you to program the water temperature, set the digital clock, and can be programmed to automatically turn on and off at specific times, preselect five cup sizes, etc. There are other features in the programming that I know exist, but I was not interested in using. So buy it, enjoy it, recommend it to others. I have owned a used the B70 version for two months. I have been very pleased with this machine. I purchased a "My K-Cup" to use my own coffee. I fill the K-cup pretty full. I especially appreciate the numerous (5) cup sizes available. I use the next-to-largest-size cup, but then I do something different: After brewing this first cup of coffee, I reset the cup size down one cup size smaller and reuse the k-cup (used once already) to make the second cup of coffee. The reason I do this is that the first cup is really strong and the second cup is not as strong (but not weak) and mixing the two together creates the perfect cup (for me). If you use your own coffee, use finely ground (espresso) coffees. The machine itself is a wonderful thing. I own a Braun Espresso maker, which I absolutely love. However, it is at times very messy and it does take a lot of preparation and cleaning; the Keurig is the opposite. I have a very busy job and time is critical. The Keurig takes two minutes to load and clean the My K-Cup--total time! It would be seconds with a pre-filled/standard K-Cup. I use a three cup coffee mug to drink my coffee. I refill the 60 oz water dispenser after drinking three mugs of coffee. Because I use the Keurig in an office, I use a water cooler to refill the water...I recommend filtered water. I can't speak enough about the ease of cleanup and simplicity of use of this Keurig. I have been putting off buying one for years, but with the My K-Cup, I save a lot on coffee. I will say that the machine has a large "footprint." I use a microwave cart for the Keurig, coffee, water jug, etc. So this is not a hide-it-in-a-corner type of Keurig. Many coworkers have positively commented on this machine and have sampled the coffee it makes: They are now proud owners of their own Keurig!
FANTASTIC brewer!!...! Easy to use and clean up! Can use your own coffees, teas, etc. in filter for it!! I don't know how I've lived without this rascal!!!??? Use it every day!! Even our kids are impressed with it too!!! Mr. Coffee types can't compare to Keurig brand machines....Possible other brands may be as good but, don't know the quality of them. This has great qualities about it!! I have a cappuccino maker and it great when the steamer wants to work correctly? But, I've gone through 2 Mr. Coffee's and won't buy another one now that I have the Keurig maker!!!! I will tell EVERYONE about this brewer for sure??!!!!!!???!!!! I don't know if the price is a good value for sure or not? But, I love using it for coffees and teas so far in the last 6 days that I've had it! It's fantastic that there is it's own filter unit that goes with this machine that you can use for your own loose leaf coffees and teas!!! Buy one for youyself and you'll never use another coffee pot again!!! ;-)
