Problem is, the "more"... was bounce all over the sewing table when I used it at full speed. WOW! That serger had more bounce than a basketball -- made it very difficult to use. My husband googled the problem and found a very nice mat that absorbs the serger's vibrations. Problem solved! For the price, it works great. Downside: It's very cheaply made, and when it quits it was designed by Janome to be thrown away and replaced. If I had to do over, I'd spend more money and get a better-made, heavier product. For now, though, I have no complaints. It's cheap, easy to thread, and gets the job done quickly.

I have used a serger for 30 years. I have never see...n anything so difficult to impossible to thread. There have been much better sergers designed and built for years! Why not just improve upon one of the easy-to-thread versions? If you get it threaded, it seems like a solid little workhorse. This one is going back. I don't have time for poor engineering.

I chose this product from a whol...e variety of other products of the same or very similar kind. I kept in my mind the price and the features which I needed. I'm not a professional seamstress but I did much sewing throughout many years, have used industry overlock machines (even had one at home), but it took too much space so I sold it after many years of successful usage. Previously I bought Singer PUFF Hobbylock which I did not like at all, mainly because the threading was too complicated and the machine too delicate. I decided to buy Janome because it was recommended to me by my daughter who is just a beginner in sewing and found it very comfortable to use. I decided on other model because I was looking for "heavy duty" feature. So far I am very happy with the product. Easy to use, stable, reasonably fast (for a home and inexpensive serger. Has just the right features for a home user. Would recommend this product.
I h...ad never used a serger before so I didn't know what to expect when it came but after sitting down and preparing it to sew and then testing it out on fabric I am in love! It was easy to figure out for me and what I didn't understand the instruction book explained.I do sew so I'm not a total novice, but I think the average person would have no trouble using this machine. I don't know what I ever did without one! Nothing I dislike yet. It gets the job done and as I learn I will know if its excellent or not.
Janome is always a reliable brand. The serger is a bit noisier ...and slower than the other one I have, but it will do fine for a volunteer group to use.
