If you want to be a professional cellist, I'm sure music snobs would say this is not the cello for you, but for the price you get a lot. I just want to teach myself how to play the cello. I play violin, and this cello is working just fine for my purposes. The strings are able to hold their pitch, (my greatest concern). Yes, you need to put a ton of rosin on the bow, and you need to play the strings a bit to get the rosin on them before it will sound any good, but that's true for all new stringed instruments. Plus, like most new instruments you have to tune it a few times before it will hold its tune. I find it useful to leave it tuned a little sharp the first couple of days. But it was delivered quickly, and it was exactly what I was expecting.

For a violinist trying to teach herself cello this is exactly what I wanted. Keep in mind that a decent cello runs for about $500+, so this is not going to be high end. The sound quality is decent, although I am noticing a kind of buzzing/ringing sound on the A string. It was VERY difficult to tune at first, and sometimes it goes out of tune. Although, again it does produce a decent sound. The bow is not the greatest, but it does work. In the beginning, I was having issues playing towards the frog. When I touched it, it felt as though the bow hairs were glued together. The rosin is a decent quality. It does the job, but it isn’t really anything to write home about. The same goes with the bag. It does the job. All and all, I have really enjoyed my purchase.

Im a student in or orchestra and i desperately needed a cello so I purchased this one, it's beautiful not gonna lie but the quality of the instrument isn't what I wanted there was a chip in the paint the bridge wasnt allowing just one string to be played, the rosin won't stay on the bow and the pegs keep falling out, I am very displeased with this order I do not recommend this.

Good sound goes a long way .... especially if it is from good equipment at a fair price. Is your child in the school band? Does he/she need to practice at home but can't take the instrument with them? Problem solved (and at a good price).
