Calling all 80s music aficionados and general fans of the greatest of the GTA franchise, Vice City!!! This musical cornucopia has just about every genre that was popular in the 80s with select songs broken down into 'radio stations' (those who have played the game will understand- for those who haven't, in-game each radio station brought a different sound and type of music from the others...) with tunes that will just transport you back 20 some-odd years (if you were alive then). Whether its old school rap, r&b, rock, metal, latin jazz, synthpop, electronic, disco or pop - there's something to love for just about everyone. Fans of Vice City the game will recognize each radio station's respective DJs who will make commentary in between songs, much like it was in-game, so you get Rockstar's signature humorous vignettes paired up with bonafide classics for an excellent journey into yesteryear... For my part, I've been a fan of the GTA series and recognized that music is as important to creating ambience within a game as the story and environment. With each game, a singular soundtrack was put together - in my humble opinion, Vice City's Official Soundtrack is by and far the cream of the crop. If you ever get the chance to get your hands on this collection, I say to you- JUST DO IT.Read full review

Overall this is a great soundtrack. Its the full versions of most of the songs from GTA: Vice City. However, it's missing a few songs like "Video Killed the Radio Star", "Japanese Boy" and a few others. Each CD has a few commercials from the game but lacks the two talk radio shows. I heard that you can buy the PC version of the game, open the MP3 files and then burn it to a CD. Yoou get the talk shows as well and all the commercials.
A true piece of history marking a new era of video games with a highly anticipated sequel and record breaking budget for a video game soundtrack.
