I bought this book seeking a better understanding of Timothy Treadwell. I feel that Mike Lapinski filled in a few blanks for me, but some of his statements were not accurate at all. One that stays in my mind long after finishing this book is "Timothy called for Amie to help him during his fatal attack, thereby giving her a death sentence." According to the movie "Grizzly Man", Timothy did request help from Amie at first, but when he realized there was no hope for him he told Amie to run, get away, save herself, etc. He in no way wanted harm to come to Amie. Mr. Lapinski should've done more research, and had more compassion for a man who did some good in this world, before writing this book full of inaccuracies! It isn't completely negative. He does include some nice words from Timothy's mother, and friends, etc. But, he mostly paints Mr.Treadwell as bipolar and naive, among other things. Personally, I don't think Mike Lapinski understands Timothy Treadwell. He was a complex man. I didn't know him personally, but I can see that he DID have an extraordinary gift with animals, which Mike Lapinski undermines many times. I just didn't get a good feeling about this book. I give it a C-.Read full review

A interesting spin on Timothy Treadwell tragedy. I purchased it because I became interested in the tragedy.
