Didn't want to spend a fortune on a bath I won't use but for the birds this is perfect. I would have given it 5 stars but the plastic bowl has a tendency to lean a bit so it is not always level. This is due to the weight of the water. Other than that it is a good deal.

The main problem is that the cheap labor foreign manufacturer doesn't get it that it needs to sit FLAT ON A SURFACE, or on the ground. The bottom of the base is rounded and will not sit flat, so you need to dig out a small hole to put it in and maybe add some sand or dirt to help keep it from tilting. Also, the pre-drilled screw holes on the top do NOT match up with the base....not a biggie, but I had to put one screw in, and then use an awl to punch holes where needed to put the next 2 screws in to secure the top on the base. After filling it with water, I had to add a few mid sized rocks in the right places IN THE WATER to keep it solid and not tilting. I don't recommend this birdbath unless you want to do these extra things maybe to use it as long as it lasts. My last plastic one lasted 20+ years ! But it was made in the USA....and much better quality, and only $5 (20 yrs ago).Read full review

Yes, I'm giving it 3 stars and have recommended it...just want you to know that it works for my purposes. It's not bad for a bird bath made of 100% plastic...and the price (~$30.00) is on the top end of what I'd pay for this, but it will work for smaller birds. We've weighted down the base with sand and that is quite sturdy. However, the dish edges are still quite flexible even when the dish is mounted to the base securely. Simply, the bowl will 'tilt' if larger birds check it out. For example, the smaller finches, bluebirds, and even the 'jays' took to the fresh clean water quite quickly and the dish supported multiple birds easily...no bathing yet, drinking mainly as far as I can tell. However, when a larger dove landed on the edge, you could see the dish tilt immediately. It is quite flexible....I had to level the dish after the bird left. To note: it's a cool day here in Northern California (68degF today). I'm curious to see how much this thing will flex on a hot Summer day here (nearing 100degF...). As an fyi, it's is not in direct sunlight. So, the bottom line is that I'm OK with the unit. If we find out that we're attracting plenty of birds, we'll pick up a bigger, more sturdy 'stone type' unit in the future. Best wishes..Read full review

Bloem Promo Bird Bath (plastic, white ) Purchased as a replacement for a ~9-year old model that eventually cracked after fruit dropped onto dry basin when basin. Basin: Replacement model bird bath basin has noticeably more flexure than the previous model. Perhaps Bloem is using a thinner plastic nowadays? After filling basin with water, even a standard Western Blue Jay standing on the basin edge creates a noticeable, but minor, slump in that side of the basin. In other words, even a medium size bird can shift the tilt of the basin. Pedestal: Wide base, nice height, just fill with sand for stability. Unfortunately the replacement bird bath basin was slightly dented at the pedestal base, creating a bit of wobble. Despite my best efforts, I was unable to reverse the dent. Mounting: The basin has three small holes that need to be aligned with the divots in the pedestal top (provide your own screws). Perhaps due to the base dent described above, after assembly the water-filled basin was uneven. I should have placed the sand-filled pedestal in the desired location, then put on the basin and used a spirit level to adjust the basin position for the slightly uneven concrete patio, rather than just rely on the provided guide holes and divots. Summary: Due to the thin and flexing basin, this will likely be my final plastic bird bath from Bloem. At ~$35 price, I’ll spring for a much more expensive but much more durable solid-cast bird bath next time. Read full review

For the price of this bird bath, it is very light and top needs to be screwed it. One has to fill the base with water, sand or rocks and then attach the top to it with given screws. I have not placed this outside yet as the weather in Wisconsin is still winter like or alot of rain recently to have a chance to. I have bought bird baths in the past that were heavier and just one piece. The price is too high for the way it is made.
