One name and one name only drew me into buying the first season of Arrested Development--David Cross. I'm a fan of his corrosive standup comedy, and his previous show with Bob Odenkirk, the sketch comedy series Mr. Show. Little did I know how intense and brilliant and most importantly, funny this show would be. I was captivated by the performances of the entire cast. Jason Bateman earned a tremendous amount of respect from me like never before. Plots and sub-plots come full circle and the episode continuity was consistent, nearly like a well written comic book. Well, that was the first season, which I liked so much, it was enough justification to get the second season. Everything that follows the finale of the first season synchs up nicely. And the cast just got more out of control during the progression of the 18 episodes, especially Tony Hale, who plays the awkward panic attack-prone, Oedipus Complex afflicted Buster. I think Tony got to have a lot more fun portraying Buster after his character...nope. No spoilers, people.LOL! But Arrested Development is the kind of TV show, a sitcom no less, that I thought didn't and couldn't exist anymore. In a world of bogus half hour resolutions, cute kids, goofy next door neighbors and worst of all Tony Danza, I have not enjoyed watching a show like Arrested Development this much since All In The Family, Roseanne and Married With Children. I guess I like what they have in common with their comedy--raw humanity exposed to the world and not some Donna Reed nonsense. Season 2 is worth the price, and if you haven't seen any of this underrated series, start with season 1. Arrested Development is quality viewing.Read full review
This show was very innovative from the start and filled with so many wacky characters!! It was a show I watched from Day 1 when it was on TV. VERY under-rated and did not get it's just due. I highly recommend this to anyone who enjoys great comedy that doesn't try to force laughs with that dreaded Laugh Track. You know something is funny without being told so.

Arrested Development unfortunately was one of those shows that required the viewer to watch from the very first episode, otherwise you were hopelessly lost. Watch from the beginning and you are rewarded with one of the most brilliant comedy series ever made for the small screen. Like the short lived Police Squad, it requires you to pay full attention, so put your smart phone away and indulge in a night of silly laughter!

What a fantastic TV show. It's criminal that the show didn't last past 3 seasons. I was really hoping HBO would pick it up, but it didn't pan out. The Bluth family is back in Season 2 and funny as ever. If you loved Season 1, then keep it going, because there is no sophomore slump for this series. Most sitcoms you can just jump into at any time, but this one is different. It's best watched from the start. There's a nice story, a great narrative that flows from show to show and season to season.
I got the whole second season for $3. It's a very funny show with a great cast. We love Jason Bateman!
