classic film ,well made and not over done
Classic Sydney Poitier film, still timeless with its message that Teenagers even in bad or poverty stricken situations can thrive and grow under the right guidance. I bought the movie because it is a classic film that gives subtle hints about modern day issues that face society's teen agers and how one person can make a difference . I wish the movie had addressed more of the prejudices. it is a very good film for the entire family

One of many courages teachers
I loved how he thought of ways to get in touch with his students, and never gave up. How he got frustrated and angry for the direspect he recieved, until the students realized that he wanted them to have more self worth, and that they could be anything they wanted, successful in all they achieve, and that did get through to the students, and they loved and respected him more than words could discribe. He made them smile. I do not like the fact that it is hard to find this movie, as well as a good movie. I bought it because I got it for a steal, and I love english movies, of all types. They are real, and to the point. Their humor is so funny. I am so HAPPY!!!!!!!

I really enjoyed this movie which was the story of a teacher in England who brought some basic education and hope to a group of teenagers in a poor and rough neighborhood. Sidney Poitier was superb in the lead role, and I liked the nostalgic feeling of the sixties the movies exudes. I always wanted to see the movie, so I took this opportunity.

To Sir with Love Rocks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This charming film from the late 60's is still poignant today. It's full of blasts from the past like record players and girls in skirts, but the feelings portrayed by the students trying to find their way through adolesence are the same as what kids feel today. Sidney Poitier was adorable and oh so young here, but his story is that of everyman looking for meaning in his life and his job. The story can still pull a tear or two, and Lulu's song is as great as ever!
