Great guide to become financially organized.
This book is outstanding. I sell apartment buildings for a living and recommend this book for those that ask me how to get started in investing. First things first, you need to get your current financial matters in order before you start to invest in anything. Even though I was never drastically in debt, this book taught be a lot of principles that I still follow today. I learn about Dave Ramsey while flipping through my Sirius Sat radio channel lineup and have been hooked ever since. His show is on Sirius Sat stream 117 between 2pm and 7pm weekdays. Or, you can listen to archieves of his radio show on his website. His radio show is excellent and features many of the principles that he writes about in his book. His book will teach you on how not to worry yourself to tears because of how much debt your in, but to instead take an objective look at where you are, what size of hole (debt) you're in, and what kind of shovel (income) you have, and then formulate a plan of action that involves snowballing the erosion of your debt.Read full review

The Total Money Makeover by Dave Ramsey / A MUST READ!
I bought Dave Ramsey's Total Money Makeover book about a month ago and I loved it! This is a must have book for anyone who truely wants to get their finances under control and get out of debt. If you follow the principles of this book you can get out of debt and live your life DEBT FREE! Dave has a no nonsense approace and tells it like it is in this book. He pulls no punches and writes in a down to earth, easy to understand style that many financial self help books lack. Dave's BABY STEPS walk you through getting out of debt and having an emergency savings fund and they are simple enough for anyone to do. I highly recommend this book to everyone! Soon I too will be DEBT FREE!!!!

Only Dave Ramsey and Brad Brinker (money talk) give realistic--and workable--financial advise. This is the only book (that I know of) that has a system that works for ANYONE at any economic level. Blunt, unsweetened, direct, valuable, informative information every working person can use to create a better life.
Congress needs to read this...!

Purchased gift grndson, purchased home,I am't familiar current financing.
Purchased as a gift for grandson who just purchased a home recently. Have a pretty good idea about how Dave Ramsey thinks regarding finances. I personally don't need his book, as I have always practiced good finances from teenage years to senior citizen yrs. and could give him advice myself. However, since he is a guy, more likely to listen to another guy than me. Plus current financing am not familiar with. Read his column in newspaper & listen to on TV if carried on my network. Don't think it is currently since have changed. les0cas
