charles dance??? aka tywin lannister!
i didnt know this was him at first but after more obsession down the phandom i discovered its him!
anyways arthur/kopit version adds more depth to the character, we get to see Erik (the phantom) more and how he taught christine, how the old manager never felt his wrath, and how christine and phillipe (raoul) became childhood sweethearts.
they also used classic operas like faust, and margaruete which was mentioned in the book.
all in all if youre interested in the franchise of the phantom of the opera this one is a great

Arthur Kopit's Phantom
After hearing about this version of the beloved 'Phantom of the Opera' story, I decided to watch it. I was not disappointed. While it is a different telling of the gothic romance of Erik and the young singer Christine Daee, it was told without the emphasis of what Erik looked like. It was more about the man and his longing to be loved. Told with empathy, it relates the sadness and futility of their doomed love. A must see for all true phans.

Hard to find DVD. Even though used was in excellent condition - DVD plays very well. Phantom lover and looks for as many as I can find of the different Phantom productions. Still looking for a couple more.
