About this product
- Product InformationBethesda's flagship fantasy role-playing series returns to Xbox 360 with a new storyline and more detailed, open-world environment. Taking place centuries after the events chronicled in 2006's Oblivion, the game finds the continent of Tamriel in chaos after the High King of Skyrim is found murdered. Yet political turmoil is only the beginning of the problems. Dragons, long believed to be a relic of the past, are now flying across the lands and threaten to tear away the fabric of civilization in one fell swoop.
You are Skyrim's last hope, a descendent of the fabled Dragonborn, who can speak the language of dragons and channel their mystical powers after slaying them. The main quest involves discovering why the dragons have returned, but as with previous games in the Elder Scrolls series, you are free to embark on your own adventures. There are five major cities in Skyrim, each home to a different culture and way of life, and an estimated 500 distinct places of interest. The publisher claims the game offers 300 hours of content for those looking to explore every nook and cranny in the 3D world.
You can adapt your male or female hero to fit your playing style, whether it's hacking and slashing at creatures directly, slinging arrows from the cover of darkness, or casting powerful spells. There are hundreds of pieces of equipment and weapons to find or purchase, allowing you to mix and match shields, staves, swords, and spells to suit your needs. Defeating enemies earns you experience that can be used to level up attributes in three key areas: magica, health, and stamina.
A new graphics engine brings the province of Skyrim to life with surging rivers, rolling clouds, changing weather, and more varied terrain at different elevations. The interface features a more minimalistic scheme than what was used in Oblivion, and the number of voice actors has increased to offer more diversity in the speaking roles. Quests include more dynamic elements, and dragons will appear randomly throughout your travels, giving you the option to flee or to stand your ground and fight.

Good game, good graphics, long loading periods.
As many people have undoubtedly discovered, this is an epic video game with literally endless hours of game play. The name of land in which you are exploring is Skyrim. It is a place with many mysteries and a place where your actions play a good part into how the game progresses. Unlike some games, where your path is well defined, Skyrim is an open plains were only the strongest survive. You have multiple paths that you can go and hundreds of "missions" you can complete.
If there is any down side to this game than it most probably is the vast number of ways the game can be played. For a beginner, just starting out, I would urge them to explore the land and to build from that experience. As the game progresses (and you grow stronger) the number of adventures increases.
There is many ways to play this game. I would recommend it anyone who enjoy the Fantasy genre.
One fact that I would also note is the long loading time between scene. It is irrefutable the biggest draw back to this game.Read full review

One of the best games ever!
**Update. I didn't realize when writing this review that it was for the collectors edition. To tell the truth I did not even use the other disc. I just wanted to replace the other copy we had that got damaged. Unless you are a die-hard fan and have to have everything associated with the game (I think the other disc is a soundtrack?... but since I never bothered with it, I'm not sure.) I would just buy whatever copy is cheapest. One of my favorite top 10 games of all times for sure. Its roleplaying, so I already like it because of the themes and storylines and such, but on top of that the landscape is awesome and there are dragons popping up all over the place. It does have some very violent parts not appropriate for very young audiences, but I just cover my 3 year olds eyes. He loves the dragons. There is alot of talking to people and fighting dragons and other monster type beings and even a few robotic type automatons, so there is alot I can do with him to avoid some of the really violent parts. I just wait for him to go to bed to do the rest. There are hours and hours of game time. More than any final fantasy game. So, be ready to put alot of time into this game or play it periodically over a long period of time. This is not something to power through over the weekend. I'm editing this to add that I don't like that you can't play multiplayer on the xbox live with this. You have to have the pc. I think it would be better if it were multiplayer on xbox live. I did leave it 5 stars, though, because the game itself is much better than anything previous. I can't wait to see what they do with the new consoles that are available now.Read full review

Love the storyline, but too glitchy!
I love the storyline. I enjoy a good game like this. But the game is way too glitchy sometimes. It freezes up, you cannot pick up things sometimes. I would like to see some great fixes for the Xbox 360 version.

Awsome Game and Worth the money. 5/5 Stars!!!!!!!!!!!!
If your into Open World Games and are into RPG Games this one is a must play Game. If you havn't played the Previous games thats okay cause this game doesn't require you to have played them in order to understand what's going on in the story and this game also makes it easy for you to get hooked in the story.
The controlling is easy to understand and figure out and going through the item screens is also fast to learn. it took me about 5 minutes to figure where everything is located in the item screens and can now go through them really fast.
Like the previous games you can select your class in which you want to specialize in and can gain powers from other classes as well during the game. You can deside if you want to go through the main job quests or do what I love enjoying and that is completeing the side quests in order to gain more knowledge of the open world of Skyrim. This game will take your hours to complete but its worth it. Again if your into RPG's and open world games or are into midevil earth games this is a must play game.Read full review

Fast shipping. Will buy again!
My son got Skylanders Giants and really wanted Spyro's Adventure, but we had a tough time finding one in good shape for a decent price. When he saw this he was soooo excited about all the characters that came with the lot. He has been having a lot of fun with the game. The only complaint is that we wish he could save his progress no matter where he is in the game, not just after he passes a chapter. Obviously the newer games are better, just cause they have had time to improve the little things people dislike, but overall. He is happy with it.
