Pass on this flick.
I have tried to watch this thing twice and I just do not get it.
Some great actors but the plot, and story line are dis-connected
The actors won the academy the story is well, Lost In Space.

This movie in a nut shell.
In a nut shell, f-in f-in f-in, is all this movie is about. Just more trash out of Hollywood. Total waste of money.

To take down South Boston's Irish Mafia, the police send in one of
their own to infiltrate the underworld, not realizing the syndicate
has done likewise in this Oscar winning crime thriller. While an
undercover cop (Leonardo CiCaprio) curries favor with the mob kingpin
(Jack Nicholson), a career criminal (Matt Damon) rises through the
police ranks. Both sides soon discover there is a mole among them-
but can not identify them. Plenty of action, guns and casulties
here as you soon learn 'The Departed' are the people that lose their
lives with the fighting between the two sides. Director Martin
Scorsese has done many hit movies (Taxi Driver, Raging Bull, The
Aviator, Kundun, etc) and this is certainly one of the top ones
that will be added to the list. Great movie for a nights entertainment
especially if you enjoy crime thrillers, drama or action movies. Movie
was awarded Oscars for BEST PICTURE and BEST DIRECTOR in 2006.Read full review

Not worth the dollar it cost me.
A cast full of "big name stars", but the movie came across as just another "Good Fellas" crime boss centered movie. Profanity was over used to the point of being obnoxious. Perhaps thats the way it really is in a Jersey Shore kind of way, but I found the movie a total bore. Now I know why it was so inexpensive.
