The first 2 seasons are most fun and memorable to watch!
If you're a fan of the old black and white Superman series staring George Reeves, Phyllis Coates and Noel Neill and others, then the first and second season dvd sets are for you.Once they got to the third season, the stories became a little more hokey and not as well written. These are just plain fun to watch!
I enjoyed these episodes as a very young boy on tv, and now I am glad to have them on dvd in my collection. The episodes are also great conversation pieces amongst other fans at family gatherings and parties with others of our own age! There's just too much cgi in everything produced these days which takes away from the fun.

A thrilling and fun adventure as you go up, up, and away!
After being unsuccessful in watch these classic episodes on You Tube I wanted to see more. Remembering many of them when I was 7-8 years old. The special effects for the early days of TV are quite good compared to the latest CGI images. The color episodes filmed 8 years before color TV came about are dazzling and I'm sure they are the reason this series is still so popular. The stories are simple and thrilling perfect for kids. A lot better than the current interpretation of Superman. I recommend this to any Baby Boomer!

Excellent series. Excellent season.
This is the last season in black and white. This season contains the episode "Panic in the Sky" which is the favorite of many fans including Jerry Seinfeld, Michael Maurer adapted "Panic in the Sky" into an episode for the Superboy series called "Superboy...Lost" (1990), Bryce Zabel and Jackson Gillis adapted "Panic in the Sky" into an episode of the Lois and Clark series called "All Shook Up" (1994) and Bryan Singer adapted some elements of "Panic in the Sky" for a scene in Superman Returns (2006). "Superman in Exile" is a great episode where Superman saves a nuclear reactor from exploding and becomes radioactive, kills plants, glows in the dark and must leave the city or anyone close to him will die from the radiation. Kryptonite is introduced in the series in "The Defeat of Superman", George Reeves plays an amazing duel role in "The Face and the Voice" showing his versatility, Superman fights a gorilla in "Jungle Devil", "Around the World with Superman", "A Ghost for Scotland Yard" and "The Clown Who Cried" are great episodes. A special rarely seen patriotic episode sponsored by the U.S. Treasury department promoting savings bonds called "Stamp Day for Superman" is included. Noel Neill and Jack Larson provide commentary for the episodes "Panic in the Sky" and "Semi-Private Eye". There's also a tribute to Noel Neill called "First Lady of Metropolis". Highly recommended DVD set of classic Americana!Read full review

Look up in the air! Its Super Deal!
I purchased this DVD to preserve a small piece of my childhood. This was one of my favorite shows when I grew up and it reminds me of running around my Grandmother's home wearing a bath towel around my neck. It was nice to buy at a reasonable price. I would have preferred to buy all of the seasons but found them all to be very expensive when purchased together. The reproduction and quality is excellent!

I would recomend this roduct to a friend.
I loved it. It was a great purchase and didn't take long to arrive. If you are an avid fan of the superman series that aired in the 1960's this is the dvd for you. so by all means get it if you want to keep those memories to watch over and over again.
