Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles IV: Turtles In Time, legendary TMNT game!
This was the first TMNT game to look as good as it did for any Nintendo system at the time and it didn't hurt that it came out on the SNES rather than the NES. Although I am a huge fan of TMNT 2: The Arcade Game for the NES, this one actually looked more like an arcade would look, via enhanced graphics. This game is the same idea as the previous two turtle games. You make your way through levels either with a little help from a friend or by yourself, fighting the foot clan and defeating a boss at the end to move on. Also like the previous two turtle games the enemies you've defeated will be tallied up, there will be pizza pickups for your health, and various short term attack pickups. There are a lot of unique aspects to this one however, as the title suggests you will be traveling through time which makes for some very interesting level design. The first level through time takes you the prehistoric times in which you have to watch out for dinosaurs, and there is even a really cool train level, graphics which were extrememly impressive at the time. You will also make it through the technodrome. A attack manuever they implemented in this one was the ability the throw you enemy at the screen. When you fight against Shredder for the firt time, this is actually how you inflict damage on him. Pretty unique and cool if you ask me. Also in this one, when you're just standing there, your turtle wont just stand there like a dope, they actually will do something, for example Raphael will twirl his sigh, or they might make a face. This is one thing that makes it seem more like an actual arcade game than the previous two games. This game is hailed as one of the greatest turtle games to come out for any console and you'll defeinitely find out if you give it a whirl. You'll probably want some help from a friend however, this game is quite challenging. You'll have to think fast and plan your attacks accordingly. Back when this game first came out I think I may have beaten the game by myself once or twice, but when I played it today I barely go halfway through the game. It is really fun though. There are also bonus levels in which you have to defeat as many enemies you can before the end which are applied to your overall enemy kill count. Konami makes great games, they always have and probably always will. This game certainly is no exception. I highly recommend it, especially if you were a TMNT fan back in the day, and maybe you're like me and still are. I always throught it'd been cool for them to incorporate Splinter and Casey Jones as a playable fighter in these games or even April maybe...hmmm... that might have been cool... Anyway, yes, I highly recommend this game, you should definitely try it out. It can go for a higher amount ($40-$50 on eBay, because it is a slightly rarer game and it still has a substancial following to this day, well worth it if you have the cash on hand however). Heros in a half shell, turtle power! Cowabunga dude! Okay, this review is done, thank you for reading it!Read full review

Great game and nostalgia trip
As countless others will tell you, it's a great game. Don't buy into the "modern" reviewers telling you it's repetitive or too easy. Yes, more or less all of your attack moves are based one 1 button. Yes, you do spend the whole game fighting enemies. There are a myriad of backgrounds and a great sound track to keep things fresh and interesting. The game is fast paced and true to the Turtles' humor and action.
The difficulty is definitely here in this game. Every enemy has a pattern and a weakness, but if you've never played this game before odds are you're not going to guess the weakness the first time you face an enemy. The learning curve is there and it makes the game very enjoyable.
The versus mode of the game is a bit shallow, but it's an addition and not the main attraction. Enjoy the game for what it is, a fun, goofy beat 'em up full of Turtles charm.Read full review

Melt you face off with side scrolling awesomeness!!!
Are you nostalgic for the days of side scrolling through hordes of enemies all to fight a end level boss that blinks red when his demise is imminent? Then this is the game for you.
I fell love with this game in my youth all for the gameplay.
The Ninja Turtles battle it out once again with ther Nemesis, Shredder. He send the TMNT back in time(also it seems with tons of The Foot) and they must battle back through time to get home.
The gameplay is superb for the time and you can even throw enemies out of the game right towards the camera(very cool).
Also all the end of level bosses you fight are straight out of the old tv series.
Lets face it, I am biased, and because I am this game gets a rating of 5 stars. However even if I was not biased, the lowest I could give this game is maybe a 4.
Awesome game.Read full review
