Star Wars: The Old Republic -- Collector's Edition (PC, 2011)
About this product
|Star Wars: The Old Republic is a persistent world role-playing game that has you fighting in an epic war between the Galactic Republic and Sith Empire. Become a Jedi Knight, Sith warrior, bounty hunter, smuggler, or one of four other class types as you explore the base game's 17 worlds, each home to numerous quests, characters, and challenges.|
The interface and combat system are designed in a similar fashion to previous games in the genre, with players viewing their characters from a third-person viewpoint and clicking on individual keys to initiate different forms of attacks and powers. You'll hone your combat skills against an assortment of droids, creatures, and humanoids, either alone or with the help of others.
One distinctive element of The Old Republic is its emphasis on cinematic storytelling. Dialogue sequences are completely voice acted, for example, and you'll be able to fight alongside companion characters that will actively converse with your character, become more proficient in combat, and even offer the possibility of romance. You will also make decisions during quests that will earn you either light or dark Force points that can eventually be used to unlock exclusive powers.
In addition, Star Wars: The Old Republic lets you captain a personal starship to engage in space combat or to use for transportation. The game also features land-based vehicles, a galactic trade network for selling and buying items, dedicated social hubs, areas designed specifically for player versus player combat, and cooperative raid-type encounters called operations. A monthly fee of $14.99 is required to continue playing the game after the first 30 days.
The collector's edition includes a statue of character Darth Malgus, a metal case to hold the game discs, a galaxy map, a soundtrack CD, and "The Journal of Master Gnost-Dural" book. The following seven digital items are also included: a flare gun, a training droid that assists in combat, a holographic dancer, a holographic camera, an in-game vehicle, a mouse droid, and an in-game vendor featuring exclusive items.

A great game, a must have for star wars fans (like me) and mmog/mmorpg fans
I LOVE star wars so I was hoping that SWTOR would suit my needs for a mmog and I am very pleased to say it does. I bough the SWTOR collectors Edition because I wanted all the extras, especially the soundtrack. If you JUST want the game with no extras, I would recommend the standard version of SWTOR. If you want physical and digital items the SWTOR CE is the way to go. Also the Statue of Darth Malgus was one of the best physical item I ever got from a video game, especially a SW one. Its made by Gentle Giant, a really good company that make QUALITY statues. I was suprised that in the game box itself it included $30 off another Gentle Giant SWTOR statue, that retails at $50!!! so you only have to pay $20. Now the game itself is INCREDIBLE with no lags and no crashes. The story line and pvp/pve is incredibly good.
In conclusion the SWTOR CE is one of the greatest CE's I have ever got and includes the best extra's, physical and digital. You should watch out for good deals on it. Like I got mine for only $80 NEW!!!!!. So just look for cheaper ones if you dont want to pay the retail price of $150.Read full review

Fantastic, Visually Stunning, Content Rich
Made by Bioware (Mass Effect,Dragon Age Series) and published by Electronic Arts (EA), Star Wars: The Old Republic is a MMO (Massively Multiplayer Game) set a long long time ago in the content rich Star Wars universe years before the movies.
You have the choice of Jedi or Sith. The war between the Jedi & Sith is at large and you could be the difference between one prevailing and the other falling. Rising through the ranks, the player can explore various planets and stars throughout the galaxy, packed with thousands of hours of Quests, Side Quests and exploration with friends or family all over the world.
The games visuals look fantastic, game play is smooth and similar to World of Warcraft, and the game has mass potential when it comes to expansion packs in the future.
>The subscriptions for this game can be bought in Monthly & at 3,6 and 12 Month intervals and the prices are very similar to WoW prices. Although they vary from country to country.
Although Bioware/EA has limited the number of copies sold (around 2 million) worldwide to reduce server failure and to increase stability. The games future looks set with mass support by fans of Star Wars and of Bioware and could possible reach 7-10 million players world wide by mid next year if the cap was lifted.
This game is a must for anybody, Star Wars fan or not. Watch out World of Warcraft. Their is a new kid in town.Read full review

Love the game, the experience, the universe and story line. :D
The best MMO RPG right now. I stop playing other MMO games because of SWTOR, even the free-MMO games.

Remember Ebay When Shopping
originally i did not want to play a space game i have always played Diablo, Everquest, or World of Warcraft online. a freind asked me to do the trial version and i ended up buying the digital download cause i liked it so much. later i heard about the other goodies you got with the Collector's Edition plus the bonus Cartel coins you got for having the CE version so i had to have it - and when i got it and saw how big the set was and all that came with it, ohh!! man i am so glad i got it
And it was the best price on the entire web at the time - the statues that come in the pack sell for 29 to 40 dollars alone and i got the whole pack and game for 49 - so remember Ebay when your shopping
