I love this movie! James Gunns first directory appearance, (he also wrote it) before he went on to direct Guardians. The first time I saw this I was an instant fan. Done like an 80's sci-fi horror with an awesome story line. The cast is amazing (make sure to watch the extras) and brings his story to an epic finale. The music selection is hilarious! This is a must see for any sci-fi & horror fans! James Gunns came out shooting & hit the bullseye dead on! He has come a long way from writing Tromso & Juliet, I'm excited to see what other wonderful films he will make for us!

New-Gen instant classic. Gory with a hint of comedy. Good times MUST WATCH.
From the Creator's of Guardians of the Galaxy, James Gunn tackles this horror movie with his personal touch of making it enjoyable without completely losing the movie's genre. It can be gory but at the same time have a sense of comedy which can almost compare to Zombieland. The plot is basically about an unknown creature that slowly takes over a small town. The DVD's cover picture is only a small part to the movie's plot. This movie will leave you with some iconic gory scenes to remember. Not disturbingly-disgusting but ridiculously-exaggerated to hype up the scene. The DVD is packed with a lot of extras. Very entertaining. MUST WATCH. ENJOY!

Here's a gooey, hilarious, creepy horror film for the whole mutant cannibal family. Michael Rooker (HENRY: PORTRAIT OF A SERIAL KILLER) stars as Grant, a big bald guy from a small southern town who gets possessed by a meat-hungry parasite worm creature from space. Even under the alien influence he still loves his wife, Starla (Elizabeth Banks), but she's alarmed at his weird new habits, such as consuming all the local wildlife. The sheriff in town (Nathan Fillion) investigates. He still carries a torch for Starla from when they were kids, but once the squirming, slithering, and cannibalism begin in earnest, it becomes clear that this is no time for romance. SLITHER's combination of interesting characters, deadpan humor, gore aplenty, and genuine scares earns it a place alongside cult classics like RE-ANIMATOR and the various LIVING DEAD and EVIL DEAD films. Director/writer James Gunn wrote 2004's DAWN OF THE DEAD before this, and it's abundantly clear where his loyalties lie: SLITHER aims its acid-dripping, brain-sucking tongue right into the hearts of horror fans. Heads explode, monsters squiggle into gaping mouths, tentacles wrap around Banks's negligee-clad body, and the sheriff takes it all in his stride. There's even a twisted intergalactic love story somewhere in the chaos, as well as hordes of in-jokes for the fans.Read full review

You've Been Taken Over by Slugs, Sorry!
The only thing that I can easily remember good coming out of 2006 was this movie. To say the least, it was high time that someone really epitomized the essence of a good Alien Bodysnatcher movie. Well, this is the one. When Alien broke ground in the late 70's, most people had never been so terrified before in their lives. Up until that time maybe Jaws was the scariest monster movie out there. Slither takes a stab right at the movies that never try to encapsulate the pure evil of organisms infesting humans. These things thrive inside of a human long enough to get bigger and multiply and then they move on into another host. If you have a weak stomach or don't like to feel disturbed about alien invasions, then do not watch this movie. This was Rated R for Strong Horror, Violence and Gore and some Language. Nathan Fillion and Elizabeth Banks did remarkably well in holding this movie together while Director James Gunn has moved in to the Horror Hall of Fame forever more for this one. Check Out the GAG reel as well. You will certainly squirm out of your chair or bed on this one. BE SURE TO CHECK OUT MY OTHER LATEST REVIEWS AND PLEASE DON'T FORGET TO VOTE!Read full review
