A great lens with shallow depth of field at the widest aperture setting, makes for impressive 'people' shots. Wonderful low light handling, and a unique ability to handle a wide dynamic environment.
Fast becoming my go to lens for all occasions.

Producto 100% recomendable. Servicio rapido y confiable. Lente de muy buena calidad, buenos acabados. Profundidad de campo decente, nitidez muy buena. Enfoque normal para ser Sigma y no Nikon. Precio y calidad en su justa medida.

Great prime lens for Nikon SLRs
The Sigma 30mm f/1.4 DC EX is a beautiful lens. I wanted a fast normal prime lens and I did quite a bit of research. The teacher of my photography class suggest this Sigma lens and the reviews were very good. I went to a store to compare this lens with the Nikon 35mm f/1.8 which also is well reviewed (and significantly cheaper). As I looked at them side by side I realized that there is no comparison between the two lenses. The Sigma lens was heavier, but a much better quality and construction. The only issue was the price, but I was able to find one on eBay for a reasonable price.

Sigma 30mm f/1.4 EX DC HSM for Nikon - REVIEW
The Sigma 30mm f/1.4 is a special-purpose, fast, fixed normal focal length lens for digital SLRs. It sells for about $429.
This Sigma lens works well when used as intended for hand-held shots in dim light. It's lightweight and works fast and easy, especially with the Nikon D40 and D40x.
No other maker makes anything identical to a 30mm f/1.4 for under $1,000. If you need f/1.4 in a lens of this focal range for under a thousand dollars, this is it.
If you have a Nikon D40 or D40x, this also is your lens because Nikon makes no lenses faster than f/2.8 which autofocus with a D40/x.
It works GREAT with my D40x!
