Great phone for my needs.
I bought this particular model (there are AT&T, Verizon, Sprint, T-Mobile and international versions available) to work with Straight Talk wireless. It was advertised as "unlocked", which it was. I can report that it works flawlessly with a Straight Talk SIM.

I was also able to install the "leaked" ICS ROM without issues. (The official ICS update is due shortly and it appears that it will be downloadable in the same ways as the carrier-sold phones.) Although the Galaxy S III has just come to market, this phone suits my needs at a considerably reduced cost, given the high-speed data limitations of most affordable phone plans. It lacks the 4G-LTE capabilities which will use an entire month's download capacity in mere minutes, if and where 4G is available. Plain 4G is more than adequate for my needs, but even this older technology seems to be limited in availability.

As with all Android phones, the ability to customize virtually everything comes at the cost of some added complexity. As I had considerable prior experience with Android, this was not an issue with me. I should also note that using your own phone with a carrier which so allows can be very cost saving, but not for the inexperienced and faint at heart, as you'll find yourself to be on your own.Read full review

Good basic cell
Purchased this phone for my wife and she loves it. Very simple to use, slim, and basic for a smart phone. I have the S4 and would now prefer the S2 after using the S2. Older cell but still works great.

Overall good phone. Easy to use and navigate around.
Decent reliable smartphone. it's definitely dated now. It's a little touchy when texting. Battery life is disappointing. Occasionally will have big drains.
