My daughter and I have used Brightsides for last se...veral years. We wanted the slide out keyboard feature which is getting impossible to find on new phones. Internet access sometimes is slow and the camera is not the best, BUT, if you want a phone a step above basic this phone is great. If you use your phone for calling, texting, and light internet use, this phone is great for the price. I have had same phone for 3 years and purchased new one for a backup while I could still find one.

I like the value for the $$$ BUT Samsung software is the pits! ... It comes with limited ringtones, NO built-in smiley icons (like my old one) and poorly located buttons on the case. On the UP side it is bigger and has a better keyboard for my "fat" fingers which are almost useless on the touch screen which is sometimes too sensitive and other times not sensitive enough!. A stylus will not work on the touch screen at all. Sound is clear and the phone basically works just great for being such an inexpensive instrument. I got what I paid for and it is ok but NOT the best. R Gale

I bought this phone for my wife ...when the one she already had quit working. The price is very good for what you get, and as non-smart phones go this is about as good as they get. The camera is only mediocre. The phone has very little memory and only stores about 35 pictures, but you can get a sim card that allows you to keep 100's. On the positive side, the phone is easy to use and looks like a smart phone. It has the qwerty keyboard that slides out for easier typing, making it good for texting. It does surf the web, but you have to pay extra for the service and if that is what you are looking for buy a real smart phone. I bought her a cover online, very cheap (less than $5) hoping to make this one last longer, because as I implied, they are not the most durable. The copy of this same phone we bought new from Verizon broke when it was about a year old so we replaced it with another since my wife really liked it.
For a basic phone, it's very nice! I can still... use the Internet and do a lot of stuff on it. However, it's not a smartphone! There's a lot that can't be done. When I recieved the phone, I noticed there is one electonical problem with it; for some reason, the phone always thinks it's charging. The battery icon in the corner is always showing "charging" status, and when I shut my phone off, the screen stays lit, saying that it's charging. Other than that, the phone operates perfectly. Battery life is good; I use it daily for texting and charge it when I get home around 9:00pm and then unplug it at 6:30am. It usually lasts then until 9:00pm when I plug it in again. The touchscreen is very responsive, considering it's not a smartphone. Does what I need it to do. The camera is decent also. No flash, but it does zoom, via the volume buttons. Overall, it's a good phone for the price.
very well designed and responsive phone with good re...ception, very nice keypad, easy to operate. its a perfect phone for someone who needs a good phone for talk and text with some other basic features. What I found most annoying is the following 2; 1-You cannot edit a contact from the calling history list, you need to go into Contacts to edit. 2-Calendar reminders cannot be postponed or snoozed.
