Roots Part 2 fnishes the story
This riveting family saga is every bit as good today as when it first aired almost 40 years ago. Heart breaking and uplifting, disheartening and uplifting, one man's family history represents the changes in race relations over several centuries. All the more fascinating as it is the truth, not fiction.

"Roots" - The second time around, in more ways than one!!!
Great addition to my DVD collection. Enjoyed the first series "Roots" when it orginally aired. I remember hurrying home from work and rushing through dinner so we all could be sitting in front of the TV; we didn't want to miss a minute. My Mom and I were working on refinishing her kitchen cabinets and would work on sanding and painting the doors during commercials. My Mom is gone now but the memories are still clear. The series was only aired once since the first time, but I missed it. I never got to watch the second series which is what "Roots - The Next Generation" really is. So...this purchase is for the memories and the chance to view it all again. It's an excellent story!!

These stories are what a lot of African Americans experienced in their life
I remember watching the original series of Roots with my family and tought that the world was changing because of the content and it was on TV and in addition it was a story about black people. I did not know that "Roots, The Next Generations" existed and I just watched this about two months ago. I went on line and bought it because I want my grandchildren to know some of the situations I had to grow up in as a young man. This series was awesome.
