Pokémon: Yellow Version -- Special Pikachu Edition (Nintendo Game Boy, 1999)
About this product
|Pokémon: Yellow Version -- Special Pikachu Edition is a remake of the popular Pokémon: Red Version and Pokémon: Blue Version cartridges for the Nintendo Game Boy with Pikachu front and center, a slightly different storyline, and enhanced graphics.|
The player still controls Ash in his quest to become the best Pokémon trainer in the land, but this time he's stuck with Pikachu following him everywhere. Professor Oak finds him in a field and gives him to Ash. Unlike the earlier renditions of the game, Ash's rival is also given a Pokémon of his own at the beginning: Eevee.
Ash will also have to contend with Team Rocket and their leaders, Jesse and James, just like in the earlier versions, although in a slightly different manner. The confrontations are more heated this time around, with the first one coming at Mount Moon.
The graphics are enhanced, with Cerulean City shaded blue and Lavendar Town colored pale purple. The monsters are more detailed as well, and some of them are more animated, especially Pikachu.
Players can now print out their Pokémon lists on the Game Boy Printer, and two can go head-to-head with a link cable.

Game is amazing.
This game is amazing, I have been wanting to play Pokémon Yellow for years now. The game is in great condition, minimum wear on sticker and cartridge itself, and in game play works perfectly.

The best of the generation one pokemon games!
This is by far the best of the generation 1 pokemon games. It has better pokemon designs than red and blue and also better gameboy color support. It also is more closely coincides with the anime. All around this is the best version of gen 1. If you have never played a pokemon game before this is a great place to start.

Pokemon Yellow: Special Pikachu Edition (Game Boy)
This is a very fun game in which provides many hours of entertainment. Battle as a miniature 'you' who you can name your name or any of your favorite names! After that, you are able to battle and catch new Pokemon! Once you establish an elite force of Pokemon, you are then able to go on and battle trainers and other Pokemon League Members which hold badges you need to continue into the Pokemon League and become the best Pokemon Trainer ever!
Throughout your voyage, you are able to play many other games and challenges that add a little extra to the game.
Altogether, I would highly recommend this game for anyone who has a Gameboy; another plus for purchasing this game is: these games never lose their value; they are always in demand! You can resell it fast if you decide you don't like the game for any reason!
Hope it helps! Good Luck!Read full review
