About this product
|Side-scrolling silhouetted rhythm warriors battle to the beat in Patapon 2, a stylish sequel in the visual style of the original, designed by French graphic artist Rolito. As in the original PSP game, players communicate with the little eyeball-like Patapons using rhythms instead of words. They give simple commands, such as "move," "attack," or "defend," by playing particular drumbeat sequences. The game's levels pose platform and combat puzzles. Players must use the correct commands to position their Patapon warriors and have them fight or perform special abilities at the right time, to defeat enemies or exploit the weakness in a giant boss monster. Command sequences must be entered in time with a background rhythm that plays throughout the stage, and so an improvisational percussion song is created as orders are given and fights are fought. Victory is often rewarded with upgrades to weapons or defenses. Patapon 2 features additional drumbeat commands and a new type of warrior, the Hero Patapon, which can be customized to fill a variety of roles in battle. Patapon 2 also offers music-themed mini-games and a multiplayer mode.|
Note: The retail release of Patapon 2 comes packaged with a voucher containing a download code, which allows the consumer to obtain the game from PlayStation Network. The package does not include a UMD.

patapon 2 - the crazy cure for bordum
Being the only game that i can think off that is downloaded of the internet instead of having a hard copy on a umd (a plus or minus depending on your preference). The actual game is a side scrolling rhythm/army/customization showdown that is an addiction to all who start and get it (some don't, too bad).
The use of rythem and keen attention to detail that allows simple moves like walk ,attack, and defend to become a balet with the person as the conductor.Control three company of different patapon tribes to hunt and crush all that get in your way. The use of the hero character puts a face on your black+white army ,able to become any type with masks of power to boost this stats becomes the single most optimized patapon available.
Plenty of levels and ability to replay areas over and over to collect iteams that could not be had before. The use of weather as a key strategic point especially critical for long and mid- range assaults.(pata-pata-pata-pom)
All in all the game is for though that want some thing more than just football and hack&slash. A game equal parts melee and music that rains spears and arrows on all others.Read full review

A little patience for download and setup but works great!
This was a close one. My son accidentally pealed off the downloaded key and my wife was able to scratch off the pealed part. We had to do some software download from Sony and have media player installed but once we downloaded it to the PC and transferred it to the PSP it worked great. The biggest advantage to this is you do not get any disk errors as he was getting before when he had the disk for other games. Plus the price you can't beat it with downloaded versions.

I absolutely love Patapon 2! I started off by playing the demo on my fiance's PSP and decided I needed the full game --It's so addictive! Easy enough to play for a child, but challenging enough to keep anyone engaged and entertained :)
