Lumix GF3 - the perfect camera for me.
I'm not an experienced photographer, but I did, long, long ago, have a Nikon F, wind my own film, and develop the negatives and prints. In the interim, I have had a bunch of point and shoot cameras. My final two being a Canon PowerShot S3, and a Canon FS30. Both nice simple cameras, but I wanted to try something with a little more SLR in it. I chose the Panasonic, Lumix GF3. It was reasonably priced, and has a sensor almost as big as the viewing screen on my S3. I expected it to be better, but it is much better. The colors and details are crisp, and the videos look like film compared to my FS30. If you miss your point & shoot, the GF3 has a lot of automatic settings. If you choose to calculate, it has all the manual settings, and a good selection of lenses, reminiscent of the old SLR. For me, it's the perfect compromise between big, pricy, lumbering, DSLR's and the small, clever, but limited point & shoot cameras. It is fun, and it's versatile, and it's priced right, and it works well.
I close with this caveat, I am not a professional or a perfectionist.Read full review

Video shooting time is limited only by card capacity. Woo-hoo!
Got this as a second/third video camera for event videography. Three main features I needed:
1) The larger sensor compared (to point-and-shoot digicams) allows for creative "narrow focus"
2) One of the video modes allows for continuous shooting up to the capacity of the SDHC card (critical for wedding ceremonies)
3) Manual focus to "lock off" a shot to avoid autofocus "searching" when bride/groom move in/out of frame.

I'll be waiting for upgrades from Panasonic. They understand the future.
I had a GF2, which performed perfectly. I also had a G2, which I really liked for the touch screen. So, the GF3 has most of the features of the G2 and I find it well suited to my kind of photography. Quality and value are top notch.

Using recently, but happy!
I became a fan of Panasonic Company. In my house almost all the appliances of this company. By purchasing this camera I have no doubt that once again make the right choice. Quality above all praise. For such a small cost.
With the help of Ebay I was able to save money. In the CIS, this camera is worth 50% more expensive.
