Excellent device for an excellent price!
Everybody keeps saying, "It's not an iPad." That is a no brainer, it's a Nexus 7. For a $199 device it is fantastic.I own several iPads, iPhones, Macbooks, etc. They are fine devices. The Nexus 7 however is ultraportable and everything I was looking for in a device to carry on my job. The battery lasts all day provided you don't watch HD video for hours and play processor intensive games. It will do those things also, but you will need to carry the charger with you if you do. Even watching HD video and gaming, you will still get several hours out of the battery. Android 4.1 Jellybean is very smooth, but does have occasional hiccups, but I am very impressed by its performance. The flash player issue is kind of a bummer.Coming from iOS I was looking forward to seeing it in action on an Android device, and now they don't support it?! O well, I am not a big flash fan anyway, but I am a big Nexus 7 fan. I am eagerly awaiting the next Google tablet after my experience with this device. (Well minus the pre-order fiasco). Great device Asus & Google, keep up the good work. Google Now is also much faster than Siri for most queries, and I like the voice better, due to it being very natural sounding.Read full review

Fast, well-designed, and inexpensive...
Even if it is old and still has a few software/hardware quirks, this is a fast, well-designed, and under-priced tablet. While still not an Ipad-killer, it certainly is as good as much more expensive tablets.

An affordable Android option.
Built for a single user. 8 gb of storage is small especially without an SD card option. But runs very well otherwise.

Can't beat Nexus 7 tablet!!
I love Nexus 7!!! I have had one for a couple years (I have the 2012 version), and it is still running strong. Only real problem I have had was the charger. That usb port charger and cords stopped working properly early on. I bought this new Nexus 7 on ebay, only in order to the get the charging dock that was offered with it. I highly recommend the charging dock over the usb charging port! I am using the dock now, and gave this new Nexus 7 to my sister, who is also loving it! That is even though she also has an iPad- she is using the Nexus 7 much more than the iPad now.
