NBA 3 on 3 featuring Kobe Bryant (Nintendo Game Boy Color, 1999)
About this product
|Nintendo's first basketball game for the Game Boy Color features the endorsement of superstar Kobe Bryant, which continues the relationship established in 1998's Kobe Bryant in NBA Courtside for the Nintendo 64. Yet unlike a traditional game of basketball, this handheld version of the sport features three-on-three action from a three-quarter view of the court.|
As the title suggests, the game includes an official NBA license for authentic teams and players with statistics based on the 1998-99 season. Rosters reflect the start of the 1999-2000 season, and players are rated in 12 different skills categories like shooting, steals, blocking and passing, among others.
Three different game modes are available before you hit the hardwood: Pickup, Season and Playoffs. Pickup is a game between any two NBA teams of your choice against either a computer opponent or a friend (the latter option requires a Game Link cable and two separate copies of the game). Games played in the Pickup mode will not influence Season or Playoff statistics.
Season Mode lets you embark on a series of games as you try to advance your team to the championship. Players can customize their season to last 14, 28, 56 or a full lineup of 82 games. The number of games per match can also be set from one to three. Progress during the season can be saved to battery, which will also keep track of league standings, team statistics, player statistics and league leaders.
Playoffs Mode puts you and your team in the hunt for the championship as you try to withstand elimination by defeating the teams in your bracket. The teams in this mode can mirror the 1998-99 NBA playoffs or be determined by your season, or they could simply be chosen by you before the game.
NBA 3 on 3 also includes several options to customize the game. Players can choose from three difficulty levels (Rookie, Pro or All-Star) and set the frequency of offensive and defensive fouls. They can also toggle the shot clock, goaltending, backcourt violations and the five-second inbound rule.
Other notable features are trades, fatigue, four offensive plays (Normal Offense, Inside Post, Perimeter and Outside Post), four defensive plays (Man-to-Man, Loose, Full Court and Tight) and the ability to create up to six players to use as you see fit. During the action you'll also be able to witness cinematic-style replays of momentous occasions, including reverse jams, alley-oops and other plays!

NBA 3 on 3 Featuring Kobe Bryant (Game Boy Color)
The item is great, I bought the item mainly because I am a die hard Kobe Bryant fan. I was shocked when I saw him printed on the game, I had to search for the game in ebay, and with a little luck I was able to add it to my Kobe collection
