About this product
- Product InformationFour weary humans work together in an apocalyptic world overrun by grotesque zombies, collectively known as the "infected," in this sequel to 2008's third-person shooter, Left 4 Dead. In addition to the new protagonists and five new campaigns, the game offers more enemy types to battle and adds a slew of weapons to improve your chance of survival. Joining the hunters, tanks, smokers, and boomers from the first game are jockeys, chargers, and spitters. Jockeys are short creatures that leap on the backs of characters and steer them toward dangers. Chargers are hulking brutes that run quickly toward characters and use their powerful arms to slam victims to the ground. Spitters spew out projectile acid that can also form deadly pools on the ground.
Each campaign area, ranging from a Coney Island-style amusement park to a Louisiana bayou, also contains distinct enemies to face. The "Dark Carnival" campaign, for example, features zombies wearing clown makeup, while "Swamp Fever" features creatures known as mudmen. New weapons and tools include a katana, baseball bat, grenade launcher, hand axe, Desert Eagle, military sniper rifle, chainsaw, MK17 assault rifle, and a defibrillator to revive fallen foes. In addition to the co-op campaigns and both the survival and versus modes from the original, Left 4 Dead 2 introduces a new multiplayer mode entitled "scavenge." As a survivor, your goal is to locate and collect 16 gas cans on each map before time expires, all while user-controlled members of the infected try to thwart your progress.

One of the Best VALVE Games
I'm new to the Xbox console, and this game was in the top Xbox 360 games, so I decided to get it. Pretty good graphics, interesting gameplay. I like how there aren't just average zombies, but mutated zombies like spitters, bombers, etc...I have not played the original Left 4 Dead. I also love playing as Ellis, some of the things he says are hilarious. Love the weapon choices too.

best zombie game on the market
i absolutely love all aspects of this game except for the fact you cant sight in on the weapons, i dont understand how hard it would be for the developers to do this and it may be very hard but that is my one little gripe about and otherwise flawless product. compared to call of duty black ops zombies or dead island this game is far superior and stands by itself on top of the pedestal for greatest zombie game by far.

One of my favorite games, definitely worth the $ I spent!
I love this game! It's easy to play, there are various weapons you can utilize throughout the numerous maps available! Keeps you on the edge of your seat! Thrill factor is very high, you never know where the infected are going to come from, each time you play is different! Compared to other zombie games this is top of the list! I can't wait until they come out with another Left 4 Dead!

STAR in your very own zombie horror slasher movie and kill LOTS of zombies.
For quintessential zombie killing mayhem, there is no other game like L4D2. The characters are fun to play and funny to listen to. Like me, you may enjoy kicking zombie butt as the sleight African-American woman Rochelle, or listening to the outlandish stories of the resident mechanic Ellis. The gameplay is amazing, particularly the meelee combat. My favorite meelee weapon is the baseball bat, but you'll have plenty of others to choose from, such as the ax, crowbar, paddle bat, golf club, and chainsaw. Getting up close and personal with the zombies is at first quite scarey and anxiety-producing. But after knocking off a few heads with the bat-or weapon of your choice-you'll be hooked. I can't say much about the guns, not because there aren't cool new ones, but because I'm a shotgun guy and that's pretty much all I use. There are single shot shotguns, the auto-shotty, and a new combat shotgun. I prefer the auto-shotty, but the combat shotgun is great against the Tank, other Specials, and hordes of Zombies. For me, the single shot works best only as compared to the other weapons available that early in the game, and because I like that "reach out and touch someone" feeling that only the shotgun can give. It also helps to have a good meelee weapon and know how to use it. I find that when I use the chainsaw I cause more damage to my teammates than the zombies. Speaking of the chainsaw (and everything else), the effects are as gruesome and realistic and amazing as anyone could want, and the the AI gets to know you all too quickly. A good player in a game with some mediocre players will get hit early on with one special infected after another. Nice to get noticed, I guess. That's when you understand the importance and necessity of team play in this game. If the other players don't have your back, and you theirs, there will be a whole lot of dying going on. Trust me, as much as I love this game, it gets really boring playing the same finale for the 27th time because another player keeps running off and getting killed, or doesn't pay attention while you're getting shredded by the Hunter. Remember, there's no "I" in Team (although there is an "m" and an "e"). The "special infected" include all those from L4D1-Boomer, Hunter, Smoker, Witch and Tank- plus the new ones Jockey, Spitter and Charger. In my opionion, the worst is the Jockey. You'll know why once he rides your head and directs you into fire or Spitter goo. As for the Spitter, she's not too smart or too fast, but she sure is ugly and she spits green acid. And once she spits on you, any nearby zombies will do their best to trap you in her goo. The Charger...well...charges. He's like a smaller version of the Tank, with a deformed hand which has grown huge enough to grab you and pound you into the ground. Literally. There is only one downside to this game (well, maybe two if you count its addictive quality). I say this only for the Xbox 360 version which is the one I play the most. There are those on xbox live that only want to gather up all the incendiaries-gas cans, propane tanks, acetylene tanks-and blow them up, or blow you up, or kill you in some way, or kill other teammates in other ways. Yawn Boring. But if you keep at it and make some good friends (and find the right time of the day and stage of the moon to actually connect with them online) you'll have endless hours of fun with L4D2.Read full review
