kittens first full moon
I love all the caldecott award winning books. It takes a great book to win the "seal of excellence" and I have never been disappointed.

The Kitten and the Bowl of Milk in the Sky
This is a very cute book. It is about a little kitten who mistakenly believes the moon is a large bowl of milk. Of course, she wants it. The kitten's youthful innocence gives the story a lot of character. She is also very persistant as she tries to reach the "bowl of milk" in the sky. The pictures are black and white and shades of gray. This sets the mood perfectly for the story which takes place during the full moon. This is an excellent book.

Kitten's First Full Moon
This is a good book for 1st graders or 2nd grades. My daughter just passed to the 1st grade, and I think this would be a good book for her. This book is easy to read, but beginners like my child will need a little help with some of the words. After read the book with my child a few times, she now remembers the words. Great starter book.
