Kenmore Mini Ultra
I love the size and weight of this sewing machine. I bought if for my granddaughter to try to keep her interested in sewing. It's a good entry level machine but there are definitely some things about it I don't like. First, the presser foot seems to let the fabric shift too much; especially to the left, making it hard to keep an even seam allowance. That can be very frustrating for any sewer, but especially an inexperienced one. I'm wondering if the straight stitch plate would help with this situation. Second, the buttonholes leave a lot to be desired; you need to make it twice in order for there to be enough thread there to actually look like a buttonhole should, but that's not a big deal really. Third, the markings for seam allowance are a bit heard to read for an entry level sewer; that can be fixed with some colored tape but shouldn't be necessary. Wish manufacturers would do something about this as nearly every new machine is like this whether high end or low. Maybe I'm just old fashioned, but what happened to the 1/4 inch mark, followed by 3/8, 4/8, you get the idea. Much easier to see and stay on target. Fourth, the stitches are preset, which I knew when I bought this machine, so it isn't an "issue" just something I find a bit confining. This would be a great machine to take to class because it is so light weight and easy to transport. For what I paid for it, it's a great machine. If my granddaughter stays interested in sewing, some day I will update with a machine that has more features, but for now, it's good for her level and interest. She "loved" the look of it, and that's important to an 11 year old. ;-) Read full review

A+ machine. Simple, Sturdy & Produces PERFECT stitches....
I love this little machine....I've got a top of the line Kenmore Ergo3 Embroidery machine, but sometimes I just want to work with some thing simple & small that I can bring into a different room...This one is perfect...it produces Excellent stitches...and I got a set of 25 presser feet on ebay that expands the sewing capabilities 10 fold...This machine would be great for a beginner, easy to thread, easy to adjust...easy to use!! For big projects I bounce from my embroidery machine to this one for straight stitches...to my serger....AWESOME Machine...WORTH THE MONEY....You're gonna love it too!!

Kenmore 3/4 size Sewing Machine
I bought this machine for my 11 year old grandaughter as a birthday gift. She is leaning to operate this machine and having a wonderful time with it. There was not a machine in the home at the present time so her Mom also uses it for her needs. I feel it was the perfect machine for my grandaughter's first experience with sewing. And, yes, I would buy this item again.
