Still a Great Movie
I bought the DVD because I wore out my VHS tape. It is still a great movie in 2015 after all these years.

Jurassic Park (DVD, 2000, Widescreen Collector's Edition)
On a remote island, a wealthy entrepreneur secretly creates a theme park featuring living dinosaurs drawn from prehistoric DNA. Before opening the attraction to the public, he invites a top paleontologist, a paleobotanist, a mathematician/theorist, and his two eager grandchildren to experience the park, and help calm anxious investors. However, their park visit is anything but tranquil as the park's security system breaks down, the prehistoric creatures break out, and the excitement builds to surprising results. The special effects are still good today, but they were revolutionary for back in 1993. The acting is good, and the ensemble cast is great. All of the action sequences are perfectly executed, creating plenty of suspense and tension. Steven Speilberg will take you to places in this movie that no one else ever will. I highly recommend Jurassic Park.Read full review

Exciting movie with an important lesson
Once you get past all the state-of-the-art special effects, Spielberg-top-of-his-game direction, the Jeff Goldblum "X" factor, and broader social-scientific implications of Crichton original story, you have a simple morality lesson:
"Pay your engineers enough, and you'll avoid a collosal disaster of scientific proportions"
Intrigued? Check out this film on DVD.

So if you were invited to an Island full of Dinosaurs would you go? I know I wouldn't. I wouldn't care how locked up or the grade of steel they were behind.
But Alas some man with a dream of bringing dinosaurs back from the dead brings innocent people and even his own grandchildren to his derranged little Island.
That would be the last time I let grandpa babysit my kids.....
