'Poetry' that can calm and inspire you to 'rise above' the 'storm'.
We have the 'Jonathan Livingston Seagull' movie and I wanted to be able to hear the music at any time. In my opinion, this music is the epitome of Neil Diamond's gift as a song writer and composer; he really captured the essence of the theme in a truly poetic way. I think that even if you haven't seen the film, you could appreciate and be 'lifted' by this CD.
You might find it repetitive, and I would have loved more of this calibre on the soundtrack, but what Neil wrote is so inspiring that it surpasses the repeating - it can really 'carry' you to new 'heights'.

A great album with a Great Orchestra
I first heard this in High School art class. I learned a lot from a great artist that told us that he listened to it in his studio. It's beautiful music, nice and mellow. It helps me on the art I do now sometimes. It's nice to be able to get it on cd. Neil Diamond does a great job pushing his talents and taking a chance on a unique Soundtrack album.
I'm very happy that I purchased this album!

Johnathan Livingston Seagull by Neil Diamond is a still winner Recommended*
A terrific album that is just as good now as when it was originally released... While the movie was not great the soundtrack was. Excellent vintage Neil Diamond doing a type of music not normally associated with his style. Highly recommended.
