the small phone with big capabilities
I need a phone only for 2 actions: 1) to call 2) to send sms. Which additional features I need in the phone? The address book and synchronization with computer. All these features are in this phone. Why such capabilities should be in a big phone? Why do not to have it in a small one? HP Veer 4G fits it. Also this phone has one very important feature: sound. When you speak with a caller you hear it perfectly! I presented my HP Veer several years ago but I still remember a fantastic quality of sound of a caller. You could buy a phone only due to it's perfect sound. Something extra? Yes it is: your Hp Veer can work as 3G Wi-fi access point, it has Wi-fi and it has Skype: of course you can call in Skype when you connected to Wi-Fi network. One and only weak place of this phone is a battery. :( If you use a phone extensively, you need to charge it every evening :(( Oh, yes: Hp Veer has a crisp clear screen. It is a pleasure to view it. I have only one wish to this phone: a second Sim-card. This phone with dual sim card really can be a Cell Phone of Dream. Do you want something else? Go and buy a tablet. All another you can get from your tablet. Read full review

HP (Palm) Veer is an awesome, unique phone, I love it! Great value for $$.
__Why did I buy it?__ I had one before, which I really liked, but the screen stopped working (I was still able to recover photos and contacts and downloaded files from it!). So I bought HP Pre3, which should have been a better, top-of-the-line model of the same. But it was too heavy, felt too big and clumsy in my hand (and I do not have small hands), the WebOS on the Pre3 was slower... So I bought myself a new like-new Veer and I am happy again! __What do I like?__ Well, number of things: WebOS (which is basically a Linux-based OS ;-) and it's ease of use (and the community around it), Just type... feature (You slide-open the keyboard and instantly start to type and you can decide later, what to do with the text - save it as memo, send it as email, search the web, add it to ToDo list, call it (if it's a number/contact name), use it in some other app... Whatever. Really awesome feature!), gestures, multitasking which is like shuffling a deck of cards, really superb real-world QWERTY keyboard (i.e. not on touchscreen), wireless charging, freeTether, wifi file sharing, installation of applications with Preware is a breeze, switching to silent mode with a hardware switch, reasonable battery life (you can get up to 3 days, if you are a bit carefull), it's size and weight (or the lack of both ;)... And you have to tinker with it a bit at the beginning... but I like tinkering, so I take it as plus :-) __What could be better:__ Battery life - it can always be better, right? On the other hand, this is a fully featured smartphone, not a Nokia 3310. The normal headphones jack (instead of having to use the magnetic adapter) would be nice. The camera could have had autofocus and flash (in the daylight, the photos are good, though). It would be nice to have wider choice of apps. On the other hand, it can run most PalmOS apps, if you install Classic. And you have to install Preware (opensource!) to install anything, because the HP doesn't maintain the AppCatalog. But it is quite easy and the community is great. Rarely, the phone restarts itself and the boot time is relatively long. It could have supported microSD cards. ... __How does HP (ex-Palm) Veer compare to others?__ It is quite unique phone. I think, this is the best WebOS phone that exists. Sure, there is a lot of phones with better specs nowadays. But none of them has hardware QWERTY keyboard and WebOS, most of them are too large and most of them cost almost 10x as much as this little pearl. Read full review

Great phone that only compromises on the size! webOS is the best OS
I own the HP Touchpad and wanted to try webOS on a smaller scale since I loved the operating system so much. This phone is FAST! Despite the hardware limitations it is almost as fast as my iPhone 4 and it clearly beats my iPhone 3GS on day-to-day operations. Pros: - webOS - Small size - Lightweight - Physical keyboard - Good camera (considering the age) - Call quality Cons: - Small size Thoughts: This is a great phone if you can handle the smaller size. My hands are of average size so I don't have a problem using the phone except for the occasional typing error. The physical keyboard is fantastic and has no input lag. The camera is passable for facebook/instagram but don't expect to put many shots in a photo album.

Great little smart phone, only let down by a low res screen
Great little phone - does everything a larger phone does but is oh so small! Battery life is good for a smart phone and it's very portable. The biggest problem with it is the low res screen which makes web browsing a bit of a chore but if you're happy to zoom in then it's quite usable with an Adobe Flash enabled browser that can display pretty much any content. Also the lack of apps in the app catalog could be a problem for some but all the major apps are there for me.

Really nice phone for amazing product for low money
Extra small, but vera fast and user friendly phone with all new features and amazing system. WebOS is for me the best OS for smartphones. For a really low price you get GPS, WiFi, Bluetooth, 5MPx camera and..., phone with great design and low weight.
