God of War III (Sony PlayStation 3, 2010)
About this product
|After three years of honing his golf game (Hot Shots Golf: Out of Bounds), loaning out his trademark looks (LittleBigPlanet), and working on his hand-to-hand combat skills (Soul Calibur: Broken Destiny), Sony's belligerent mascot Kratos gets back to the old-fashioned deicide that made him famous in God of War III. Serving as the final installment in an epic trilogy, God of War III picks up where its predecessor concluded: with Kratos and the Titans scaling Mt. Olympus for a final confrontation with the Gods.|
Gamers will guide the irascible "Ghost of Sparta" on his relentless pursuit of vengeance, taking him to the heights of the famed Greek summit, exploring the bowels of Hell, and literally standing on the shoulders of giants in Shadow of the Colossus-style levels that take place entirely on living beings the size of skyscrapers. The gameplay is once again designed to mix frequent bouts of furious, bloody combat with periods of exploration and puzzle solving, all set within massive, multifaceted levels. Sony's Santa Monica development branch created an entirely new engine for God of War III, promising groundbreaking lighting techniques that mimic the human retina, and textures designed to realistically depict muscle contours and the glisten of freshly spilled viscera.
New magical attacks and weapons, such as the supremely powerful Cestus gauntlets, help Kratos unleash his wrath in a variety of ways, but familiar items such as the Golden Fleece, the Icarus Wings, and the permanently affixed Blades of Chaos also return. Beasts are now a means of conveyance as well as an obstacle, as Kratos can rip the wings from a Harpy to glide over chasms or yank the eyeball off a Cyclops to ride it like an enraged bull, and players can help guide the tortured soul along his path of ultimate revenge by using new grappling techniques and wall-to-ground attacks to dispatch hordes of mythological foes.

Best looking game ever combat is stellar!
God of War III is a great end to Kratos' console trilogy. It's a fantastic overall package. The combat is once again, it's bloodier than ever, and it is at times the best looking game ever released. Sony Santa Monica did a great job closing up Kratos' journey for revenge.
The story is far from perfect, but huge props to Sony Santa Monica for once again including a ton of bonus content.
It is at times the best-looking game ever, but not all assets were created equal. Still, you will be floored.
Fantastic soundtrack and great effects. Some of the voice work could be better, however.
The combat is nearly perfect, the scale is mind-boggling, and the brutality is rewarding. It's more of the same, but that's not too much of a complaint.
8.0 Lasting Appeal
It won't take much more than about 10 hours one time through, but collectables can bring you back, not to mention the Challenge rooms and Arena Battles.

God of war 3 REVIEW
This is a great game.Fun and fustrating in one package. If your a fan of the series and you were all hyped up then your in for a small dissapointment but if not then its a great game.It is just a button smasher with a cool stoory about greek mythogy.
Story-9/10 (It has a good story and killing all gods make it even better but the ending doesnt really end it at all)
GAMEPLAY-9/10(same as the past, very responsive and wide viarity of moves that are very fluent, camera can get annoying at times which was no relevent in past inerations
SOUND-10/10(just amazing and with surround sound it sounds so gorey with the sound of blood coming out of the fleash or the blades ripping off someones head or the tearing of the the cyclops eye.
GRAPHIC-10/10(just spectacular how everything is so detailed and sharp and the life like blood makes it even better, the engine is top notch and this is what GOW needed to finally fullfill there vision.
FUN FACTOR/REPLAY VALUE-8.5/10(It is very entertaining but will get repetive at the end BUT will always keep you on your toes and not doing the same moves but still can get repetive since all brutal attacks are the same on all the same enemys. As for the replay value there is none other than going through the whole jouney again or just keep playing the challenges.
OVERALL-9/10(GREAT GAME it will give you at least 10 hours of brutal entertainment everything is top notch with a few minor overall issues that cant be changed that keep it from a 10 or a PERFECT game none the less pick it up and PLAY IT then sell it like meRead full review
