started out good, than faded, I was disapointed.
I was very exited to see what I thought was going to be a great Duvall & Murray collaboration, the premise and setting were good, but the last 1/4 and end fizzled out. I was disappointed.

Laughing and crying though the whole movie, a true true story
I love this show. It's sad but heart warming. All the stars just got right. To punish yourself for forty years because you loved somebody that died because of that love, well that's true love.

Another great film about faith and redemption by Robert Duvall
I am a pastor and I am always looking for illustrations of Christian themes. Robert Duvall has made excellent movies with such themes [Tender Mercies, The Apostle]. From what I had read about "Get Low" it was another movie about redemption. I had to have it in my collection.
The movie was everything I thought it would be and more: entertaining and funny and sad and meaningful all at the same time. It also overcomes some stereotypes of the south; these are highly intelligent people, not brainless hicks or hillbillys, who respond to the hardships of life with integrity and deep faith. The rest of the cast is just as good as Duvall. I highly recommend this film. And if this DVD is borrowed and not returned I would replace it immediately.

A friend recommended it because he thought it reminded him of myself. I really enjoyed it. Watched the whole movie without stopping and will watch it again. Duvall does a great job and I can relate to the way he's living!

If you like Robert Duvall even a little, you have GOT to see this movie. I would rate his performance up there with the likes of George C. Scott (in my opinion, the best of the best). Mr. Duvall was robbed for not even getting a nomination for best actor. This movie has very little action, very little violence, no sex, very little cuss words, and yet the human interest part makes it really good. Again, if you are a Robert Duvall fan, you have to see this movie.
