Needed GPS for hunting
The eTrex Legend C is an excellent tool for directionally impaired people like myself in the woods. I have been doing my pre-season scouting with it. I have topo map and airel photo software. Using these three tools I have never been more comfortable in the woods in my life. The GPS is extremely easy to use. I pulled from the box and instantly started playing with it. When I needed to know more than just basics functions the manual and the Garmin website were very helpful. I am very happy with my GPS and would recommend highly the Legend or Vista C models to anyone.

1. One of the best ways to protect investment is to purchase a Protective Case for this GPS. You can find a top of the in line protective case that protects while allowing full viewing and access to all the features of your GPS unit. See a variety of cases at: http://stores.ebay.com/FIS4HER1-COM_W0QQssPageNameZL2
2. Purchase cable accessories that allow you to upload or download maps and data from your GPS. Purchase a 12v auto charger so that you can always keep you unit charged before heading out cross-country. Purchase quality power and data cables at: http://stores.ebay.com/FIS4HER1-COM_W0QQssPageNameZL2

Garmin Legend "C" rocks!
I love this GPS unit! I have owned about 6 different units, and this one is by far the easiest to use, lasts the longest on batteries and the software is everything I need it to be. I thought about upgrading to the Cx series, but the internal memory on this one is more than enough storage, and unless I start traveling from state to state, can't ever see a need for more.
It's easy to amaze my friends with the accuracy and multiple applications on the Legend C. And to be honest with you, I never read the manual! It's all from sitting down and playing with it. Maybe I'll check out the manual and learn some new tricks!
I drive a lot with my job, and I bought the optional dash mount and 12v cord. It makes it very easy to get where I'm going. I also have a mount on my ATV, and it's cool to sync with the Trips and Waypoints Manager software and see exactly where we went, how far, and you can even break down the trips by days.
Excellent GPS unit for the Pro or the wanna be pro. You will not be dissapointed with this GPS from Garmin!Read full review

This tool gets the job done.
I have been using the eTrex 10 by it self. I now use booth units together to show my customers that the position is correct.
I only use the 10 to prove that the Legend C is correct.
This is a great tool and gets the job done.

caution when purchasing
Caution: the color Garmin GPS systems (Legend C, etc.) have proprietary interfaces. Those scam artists have forced you to use their software, MapSource, which is alright but not as good as Streets and Trips and IGuidance, both of which are not compatible with this proprietary GPS unit. (Tech note: Garmin has removed the NMEA standard interface from these color units-what a joke!) If you have no plans to use this with computer software as a navigation system, then this is a descent/good GPS (buy from ebay not retail stores).
