Normally, there are two things an actor fears more than anything else: unemployment and bad reviews, especially when the latter leads to the former. In addition, negative criticism can be most harmful if the targeted thespian is a newcomer, because he will most likely have a rough time getting his career back on track. It was therefore quite hard to avoid that one of the first episodes of Entourage be centered around this kind of incident.
The whole tragedy is kick-started by a review in Variety that carpet-bombs Head On and reduces Vince to a "fly-by-night pretty boy". While Drama works on his acting class and the others cope with the bad news, Eric goes to discuss the story with Ari. On the plus side, he gets to meet Ari's new assistant Emily (Samaire Armstrong). On the minus side, he gets lectured for worrying Vince and is subsequently asked to distract the poor boy, before receiving Ari's ace "let's hug it out, b*tch!" treatment. E complies, accepting his friend's foolish decision to buy a new Rolls and agreeing to accompany him to a party hosted by Jessica Alba (a genuinely hot cameo). As it turns out, that's what everyone needed, particularly Vince who gets to make out with a virginal pop singer.
Being a comedy series, there is no doubt the potentially upsetting premise leads to a sort of happy ending (though later seasons have become bolder in that sense): what really matters is what happens in between, more specifically those little moments that help establishing the characters - E is a truly concerned friend, Vince is far from the "shallow sex symbol" type, Drama is an adorable loser and Turtle... well, he's just Turtle. And what about Ari? Oh, man, his charm is summed up in one sentence: Let's hug it out!Read full review

This was a great season hald way through the show
Entourage is a great series. It seems a shame that it had to come to what seemed like an abrupt end. Being that this is a dvd and is in the modern HD age it still looks great in my Blu-Ray player on the Plasma TV. If you are reading this then chances are you watched the show already and like it enough to want to buy it. You won't be let down.

ENCORE ENTOURAGE: 5 Hours of Great TV
For any Entourage fan this is a must. Although you get a little over half the season (about 5.5 hours worth) it just seems to go too quickly. Its a drag HBO broke up the season into 2 sets (which are singularly a bit overpriced if you get it without the eBay bargain buy for what they are.) HBO knows what its doing though and understands the addict....we've had a taste and have to have more! The three DVD set is of very high quality - great picture and sound. If you are into a ton of bonus extras, you will be disappointed - a little light there. But if you love yourself some Vince, Ari, Drama, Turtle and E - you will not leave your DVD player disappointed - my gosh these guys are impossible not to care about. I swear, I could watch Kevin Dillon for days as Drama - hilarious!! ENCORE ENTOURAGE....you know I will be knocking at the dealer's door for more!Read full review

The first part of season three brings you on a roller coaster ride the whole way through. First Vince is up, then he is back down. Then he is up, and again he is back down. It keeps you on edge for the whole season just hoping everything turns out okay. One thing I hated after I watched if the first time through was the idea for the character named Dom that was their old buddy from NY. He is someone you just want to hate, and I came to find after watching it again that he does an excellent job at playing the part. It actually made me angry to see him messing up their routine. If I could recommend the most complete season of the most going on and the most excitement it would be season three. If you are just into the glamor of a Hollywood dream life, then this may not be the season for you (although it still has that aspect to it.)Read full review
