Complete Post Apocolyptic Action-Drama Hip Hop - Thumpin' Adventure!
Dark Angel Season 1 is highly intertaining and well put together. The characters play well togther in a dance of contradiction and collaboration. The backdrop is built in an apocolyptic "post electronic pulse" aftermath. People living on the streets in sectors and doing whatever they can to survive with the peices of technology and family units that they can scrape together. The institution "Manacore" (sp?) and it's political / military leaders's are the main "badguys". Then each episode is peppered with some dark element to interject turmoil and chaos into the storyline. The main character "Max" has "Logan" and his "Eyes only" crusade, her friends and fellow employees at "Jam Pony" to work and play with, and then her Brothers / Sisters and Past history from Manacore ( built in a lab and trained as a genictally inhanced solder ) to weave intersting plots from episode to episode. There is a strong youthful prescence with a fresh take on the situational delima's. Recommend for Sci-Fi fans, adventure players and gamers. Good for ages 13 and up. Lingo and street slang for teen to 20's hip hoppers. It fun, interesting, packed with action and lots of upbeat rap / hip hop music.Read full review

Great product--great price!
This was purchased as a gift for my daughter, who already had season 2. She had looked for season 1 for a long time, so I was very happy when I was able to find this copy.
This 6-disk set was in mint condition (still sealed) and works great! I was very pleased to find a new copy at such a good price.
This is a definite must-have to start your collection.

Jessica Alba at her best.
Jessica Alba at her best. Well, maybe except for Sin City. The story is prophetic science fiction about the aftermath of the financial meltdown of the economy in the US and the corruption that fills the voids in almost every segment of society. Add a genetically altered child who escapes from a secret government lab and grows up in this dark, harsh society, and you have a dark political and societal action series with enough low-key humor to keep the whole thing from from getting too serious.
The first season is far superior to the second, in which the series tends to sacrifice elements of the dark theme for a more colorful and bizarre one.
Despite good ratings and a loyal following the series was probably canceled by FOX in 2002 in the aftermath of 911 in part for it's anti-government and anti-authoritarian themes.Read full review

I enjoyed this series when it was on television. Now my whole family watches the dvds. There is constant action with definite strong female role types. My youngest loves that "DiNozzo" of NCIS plays Logan. The backstory of the Pulse that destroyed computer information and was the downfall of the US is hard to defend to a curious 14-year old. However, it is good food for thought... What would happen if suddenly all those zeros and ones that represent our money was just was gone? Max's world in Dark Angel is one possiblity. Max, with her genetically enhanced capabilities, Robin Hood tendencies, strength and vulnerability along with Logan the "last free voice" add a positive note to what would be an oppresive environment. Max's friends also show how life goes on and how people tend to live and love and have much the same issues regardless of their income level or who is in political power.Read full review

Dark Angel Season 1 & 2
If you have seen any of the Dark Angel series this set is a must have. I was very impressed with the quality and special features included. I only hope they continue the series some day. James Cameron does a great job. Hope to see a season 3 and more with Jessica Alba and Michael Weatherly, they really make this show work, great acting in my opinion. Season 2 does kind of leave you with a lot of unanswered questions. Lets hope they can finish it someday.
