Great Family Friendly Movie!
This is one movie that every collector of good movies should own. It has humor, romance, (but not smut), and enough story line to keep you interested all the way through. Acting is great. There's no language or indecent scenes and you might even need a kleenex in a place or two... Highly recommend. Safe and appropriate for all ages.

His Girl Friday/ Penny Serenade Review
His girl Friday is A screwball comedy about capital punishment, political corruption, work ethics, and - oh, yes - love. Howard Hawks pulls it off and even combines equal parts slapstick, satire, repartee, and gags. The DVD commentary track has some interesting information about the thought and work that went into the staging of some of the scenes. In the movie those scenes fly by effortlessly, but the commentary gives you an appreciation of what it means to be a master of the craft of filmmaking. Of course, you can just enjoy the legendary performances of Russell and Grant without knowing anything about the behind-the-scenes work. Finding a current comedy to compare His Girl Friday to is difficult. Of this movie you can truly say - if you can catch your breath from laughing - "They don't make 'um like this anymore./ Penny Serenade: Cary Grant earned a best actor nomination for this classic Hollywood tearjerker from Columbia and director George Stevens. He and Irene Dunne star as a somewhat atypical couple who get married and can't seem to catch a break in either their professional or personal lives. The plot description above is fine, so I'll just add that this is a well crafted and acted film that hits all the right notes. Edgar Buchanan steals the show as Grant's right-hand man, getting most of the films best lines and providing some much needed comic relief. Make no mistake, this is certainly a film with some heartbreaking moments, (and some triumphant ones too) but they are deftly handled and the overall tone of the movie is lighter than you might expect -- I'd label this a drama rather than a soaper: it isn't about romantic entanglements, but a young couple trying to make their way in the world. You'll be cheering for them. Read full review
