Better than new technology...
I have tried at least a dozen of the newer drivers and keep coming back to this driver. It is as long or longer than the newer Callaway drivers. It also has a much better feel and much easier to control.

This is one great club. Highly recommend it.
I take reviews with a grain of sand. That being said, this club really surprised me. As a new golfer, I wanted to move up to a stiff shaft since I got fitted and that is what they said I needed. TBH, I bought it because it was inexpensive and I like Callaway products. I also borrowed a Cleveland Launcher 460 at the same time from a friend to give me asome options. The Launcher just didn't work for me and I struggled to hit it consistently. With the FT-9, after a brief period of adjustment, I am now rocketing 260-280 bombs whereas before with my old Big Bertha Diablo driver, I was happy when I reached 240-250. Not only that, I am way more straighter. When I hit half of the fairways in a round (compared to normally only hitting one or two) you know it's an improvement. I am not 100% sure if it is all the club or partially because finally getting the right shaft flex, But I do know that numbers don't lie. This club gets the job done and I highly recommend it to a beginner golfer like me.Read full review

Older technology that still works!
My FT9 has been in the basement for a couple of seasons. Went to the New Big Bertha this year. Just for fun I brought the FT9 back out into the daylight. Guess what! It's as long and has a much softer but powerful feel than the Bertha. It's as least as long and significantly more controllable. Interesting. If you're having trouble with your driver, don't overlook this dated, but still very effective technology.
