About this product
- Product InformationA clear shot at fans of previous Call of Juarez games, The Cartel is a story-driven first-person shooter, with multi-layered plotlines and multiple main characters -- each with a different perspective on the way the adventure plays out. The action includes close combat, undercover missions, high-speed chases, and guns-blazing assaults on enemy strongholds. The story is set in modern times, carrying on the series' Wild West themes of freedom and justice in a lawless land of big-sky wilderness, but featuring SUVs instead of horses and semi-automatics instead of six-shooters.
The third game in the series features three playable heroes: Kim Evans, who grew up in street gangs before becoming an FBI agent; Eddie Guerra, an able DEA operative with a debilitating gambling habit; and Ben McCall, an unforgiving Los Angeles detective and descendant of Ray McCall, a central character in the first two Call of Juarez games. The three team up to take down a powerful cartel of drug and weapons traders. All three have similar abilities, and are played in the same way, but each experiences the adventure differently. To access all of the available missions, and to fully appreciate the overarching story, gamers should play through The Cartel as each of the main characters.
An online multiplayer mode allows up to three to play through the adventure together, each as a different protagonist. In the single player mode, the computer controls additional characters that are present on a mission. Although each of the trio has a different background and personal motivation, they must cooperate, support one another as a team, and embrace a certain "above the law" morality, in order to overcome the sophisticated intelligence and near-limitless resources of the cartel. To paraphrase Ben McCall: Where an army of good cops has failed, maybe a few bad cops can get the job done.

From the makers of the hit "Dead Island"
This game is from Techland the same makers of the zombie hit game "DEAD ISLAND" which is a best seller and featured a midnight release all across the world. The Chrome Engine 5 smooth frame rate really shines in this game as it does in Dead Island! Saints Row 1 and 2 would have been a nicer games if they licensed the Chrome Engine 5 as this engine runs smoothly with no choppiness in frame rate. This game is really good with you playing on both sides of the law as cops and detectives with their own set of problems. The story was nice as well as the graphic art style and it draws you right in. Pick this game up if you like Halley Berry with a tattoo, bullet-time slowed down, Uzis and AK47 guns etc.,car chases, trap house gang shoot-outs and stand-offs, strip club, witness protection, hot women, narcotics investigations, strong language, violence, and shooting down choppers. ..Despite the bad reviews and low ratings this game would have been higher if priced right $39.99. I rented this game first ,but really enjoyed it so I bought it for $42.99 free shipping and it came with the automatic zooming pistol dlc which is a definite plus for picking off the baddies. Batman Arkham Asylum 2, Gears of War 3 , Deus X,Rage, COD MW2 and Battlefield 3 with new Frostbite Engine are $59.99 games. Read full review

I didn't have high expectations for this game, so I wasn't expecting much. The graphics are not par to today's graphics, but that's not what matters. It's all about the storyline and gameplay here, and that's where the enjoyment's at. I personally have been having fun, for the time I've spent with this game. I'd think this game would be call something like SWAT: The Cartel, as it's mainly about different government agencies (DEA, FBI, PD) working together to bring down a cartel. You get to play as three main characters, all with a different aspect of the storyline, so playing as each will be a different experience. This game has online multiplayer, as well as coop with up to two friends in the main storyline. The coop is a lot of fun, I wouldn't exactly get this game for the multiplayer. I'd say this game is worth $40 at most, so rent it for the enjoyment with your friends, then return it when you're done. I bought it at full price ($62.99) and I'm happy with my purchase, but that's just me. Read full review

Don't waste your money!
Don't waste your money. It's just as bad as the first one. Very disappointed. It's the same missions over and over, nothing new and exciting. Poor Game.
