About this product
- Product InformationDeveloper Infinity Ward returns with its third full installment in the Call of Duty series (Treyarch having developed Call of Duty 3) with Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare. Eschewing the traditional WWII setting that has been the hallmark of the series, Call of Duty 4 takes on the more nebulous world of modern warfare. Nazi storm troopers and kamikaze pilots have been replaced by a patchwork group of terrorists and insurgents, and traditional WWII weapons have been jettisoned in favor of more than 70 modern armaments. Though the story is a departure from the previous games, Call of Duty 4 still features intense mission-based first-person shooter gameplay that should be familiar to fans.
The plot centers on two megalomaniacal madmen who are fomenting unrest around the world in an attempt to cement their own power. Imran Zakhaev is a one-armed Russia nationalist who longs to return his country to a Soviet Union style of government by seizing a stockpile of nuclear weapons. Zakhaev has support from several divisions of the Russian army, but, knowing that the United States would quickly come to the aid of the Russian government, he funds a coup in the Middle East to divert attention. Led by Zakhaev ally Khaled Al-Asad, the Middle Eastern coup results in intense fighting which eventually leads to the launch of a Russian nuclear missile toward American soil. Players fight through this chaos as both Sergeant John MacTavish, a British SAS operative doing battle in Russia, and Sergeant Paul Jackson, a U.S. Marine fighting in the Middle East.
Call of Duty 4 aims to capture the challenges of modern war by pitting the superior technology of the U.S Marines and British SAS against the cunning guerilla tactics of a terrorist group. In addition to close quarters combat, players will be called upon to perform fast-rope helicopter drops, provide air support from an AH-1 Super Cobra helicopter, call in precision air strikes, and man the turret of an AC-130 Spectre Gunship to engage enemy fighters from the sky. Gamers also join a two man sniper team on a flashback mission in which players head to the Chernobyl Zone of Alienation on a mission to assassinate a younger Zakhaev.
Modern Warfare features an expansive set of online multiplayer modes. Players will be able to choose from Assault, Special Ops, Light Machine Gunner, Demolitions, and Sniper classes, or create up to five special classes with customizable weapons and perks. Gamers can then take their fighters through a dozen different multiplayer modes like Free-for-All, Team Deathmatch, Search and Destroy, Headquarters, Domination, and Sabotage. Players who frequently battle online will be able to accrue experience points, unlock special weapons and gear, and eventually unlock Prestige Mode in which gamers can trade in their rank for special insignias.
The "Game of the Year Edition" comes with new cover art detailing the game's awards, and a token for downloading a new multiplayer map pack.

Call of Duty, Modern Warfare
Unlike Infinity Ward's previous iterations of Call of Duty, Modern Warfare tells one contiguous story. Though you will hop between perspectives of the British S.A.S. and the U.S. Marines, each leap continues the progression of a single storyline. It's an effective tool. While the story itself--which revolves around stolen Russian nukes and Mid-Eastern terrorists bent on destroying the Great Satan (that's you and your grandma)--isn't exactly cutting edge, it's enjoyable. And more importantly, IW finds ways to make you care for every last one of your teammates. Of course, no good guys die in war, right? There aren't so much "twists" as there are shocking moments in the storyline. You may find yourself in disbelief not only at some of the events that take place, but in the direct manner in which the most startling moments are often told. There are a few too many shell-shocked slow-mo moments that seem to drag to the point of almost being frustrating, but credit Infinity Ward for not backing down from wartime melodrama.
If you played the original Call of Duty or its sequel, then you will have little trouble hopping into COD4. This is not a revolution of game controls. Infinity Ward maintains its smart system of rewarding players for aiming down the sight before firing; you can run from cover to cover (an absolute necessity to survive the utter insanity in some of the levels); you have a one-click melee attack; there are a few highlighted spots that require a button press to interact with (how else would one plant C4 on an AA gun?); and yes you can once again pick up live grenades and throw them back at the enemy.Read full review

This game was simply amazing. The graphics and storyline were very good, and it was easy to learn. There were no "super moves" where you have to press multiple buttons in a sequence that had to be memorized perfectly. Another thing I loved about it was that you did not always have to follow the directions you were given by someone, like in the level All Ghillied Up, there were several times where Cpt. Macmillan said to quitely kill some people without anyone noticing you, and you can stand up and kill him right in front of the other guy, but if you do that a bunch of more enemies come with dogs, but if you exchande your pistol for one of their automatic weapons after you kill one, it gets way easier. There is a few thing I dont like about this game, and one the instruction manual. Its not really anything that most people care about, but I like it when it has all the weapons in the game and their descriptions and what their good for. It doesn't ruin the game, but I still would like it if it had that. The other thing I dont like is that when I play online it only takes me to like ten different maps, this game would be better if it had more online maps. I aslo didn't like how short the game was, I finished it in about two hours, and on Call of Duty World at War it took me much longer to finish. Speaking of World at War, I think that this game should have something like Nazi Zombies on it, it wouldn't have to be exactly the same as it, but something like it would be nice. This is my review on Call of Duty Modern Warfare for the ps3.Read full review

Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare
This game is ne of my personal faves in the entire Call of Duty series. It campaign mode pulls you in and the graphics are so good it is like you are actually gunning down the Ultranationalists or Iraqi insurgents. Gamestop gave it this review.
War rages on in the fourth edition of Activision's acclaimed war game. For the first time in the series, Call of Duty moves away from WWII to the modern battlefield. The new action-thriller from the award-winning team at Infinity Ward, the creators of the Call of Duty series, delivers the most intense and cinematic action experience ever. Amazing game... revolutionary
This game shatters ALL OTHER first person shooters out there. Call of Duty has reinvented itself as well as helping move the first person's genre along to a completely new level.
Call of Duty 4 IS the new revolution of gaming.
From the moment you first pop this game in you will be in for one wild roller coaster ride. The game is so in-depth, and so interesting it will keep you strapped to your seat for hours on end!! Between the diverse missions, different weapons, items, vehicles, and characters this story packs quite a punch!! The only criticism on this storyline is that its short.... very short. I beat it on one of the harder difficulties in less than three days.
For those who thought gears of war had the best, allow me to introduce the new king of next-gen graphics. EVERYTHING... and I mean everything is beautiful. The explosions, bullets, shock waves, grenades, characters, lighting, ground, sky, airplanes, and everything in between have never looked to so good on a console game until now. From silently stalking through the sniper mission to a high stake shootout in a tv broadcast building, this game will make you stop and admire what infinity ward has done for you. Bullets leave their mark and can now pass through walls and other obstacles. Rockets now leave realistic smoke trails and the sight of a helicopter spinning out of control is breath taking. You will find yourself so memorized by the graphics of the action and scenery that you might just have to re-start from the last checkpoint!!
The layout for the controls is the basic FPS layout... very easy to use and even customizable.
The most realistic bullets and explosions you will find next to being in a war yourself. This really feels/sounds like your at the shooting range firing off a few rounds. From the sound as you empty out your weapon, to bullets whizzing by you and taking out your comrades, this game is a master of the audio. If you plan on getting this game, GET A GOOD SURROUND SOUND SYSTEM. You will literally be blow away.
Where to start with this? The multiplayer in COD4 is one (if not THE) best in a game to date. You think halo did multi player right? Well they did, but think Halo x10... It far surpasses Halo as the new benchmark for online FPS gaming.
As you earn kills, head shots, grenade kills, and other aspects your rank goes up and you earn new weapons and abilities. This unlocks rank, weapons, weapon attachments, camo, challenges, and a ton of other stuff. This leads me to my next criteria...
Weapons System 9/10
The weapons system is amazing!!! Tons of different primary weapons, sidearms, and specialties. There is a huge array of weapons from a light machine gun to a .50cal Sniper rifle. Attachments are very customizable in multilayer, although I wish the would have more available. Overall, you will not be disappointed with the weapon
Never have I had this much fun with a game. Storyline is great (although short as mentioned above) but the multilayer will keep you going for a long time!!! Great fun, great re-playability, GREAT GAME!!!Read full review

Very good game. Not the best Call of Duty. Item in perfect conditions.
This is a very good game. However, there are other better Call of Duty, like MW3, Modern Warfare 2 and Black Ops.
The item was in perfect conditions.
I had a great time.
