Execellent subwoofer at a great price
Did a lot of research on subwoofers before purchasing. Hadn't own nor heard of BIC Acoustech speakers, but the PL-200 meet all my baseline requirements and was the best price by far. Overall very happy.

The PL-200 is in a class of it's own for it's price. Nothing touches it.
I bought this product with value and price in mind. The PL-200 outperforms every sub in it's price range and other subs in it's performance category are $100+ more. It was a win-win for me. Upon first unboxing the sub I noticed the high-quality very dense foam BIC used to keep the sub safe (thumbs up BIC for not having me clean up foam pieces, peanuts or causing static electric shocks afterwards). Once all that is out of the way and the sub is out in the open in all it's glory I realized just how much more it is than just "a speaker in a box with an amp". It's a piece of furniture as well, WAF approved for sure. It's big don't get me wrong, let me clarify. To the buyer it's front to back is deep and menacing, it's elegant as well as sharp where it needs to be. I'm talking about the rounded edging and the sharp angled top. The front panel is sturdy and has very nice grommets. The spikes are very dense high-quality rubber material. How it's WAF approved is how the gorgeous lacquered top forces you to gaze at it and marvel at how you want to show it off instead of hide it. My wife loved it and I saw the jealousy in her eyes that it was going in my office and not the family room (have patience dear, all in due time ;) Anyway, now to powering it on. I'll assume everyone knows about what inputs they need for their specific system so I'll skip to the part where I turn up the volume. I first had the sub in the middle of the room where the bass would be lacking the most it was absolutely everything I wanted at half volume. There was no detectable resonance anywhere except in the walls. I played some of the action sequences in Transformers as a movie test and the low end was thick and heavy but never sounded like a speaker, it was just a deep sound heard as it was meant to...just like at the cinema but it was in my house! I turned up the volume to 3/4 just to see how it would handle the same scene and the deep thick sound just got deeper and thicker with still no detectable port noise, no wuffing sounds....all tight, all deep bass. Music was fantastic too, the PL-200 answered to every beat of any genre I played. I played some Sia, Dre, Pantera, Pearl Jam, Tori Amos, Cat Stevens, Led Zepplin. Let me put it this way, I had to work the next day and I was almost 2 hours past when I normally go to bed because I couldn't stop listening and finding more to play. There is no muddiness, no port noise and to be honest I think I was easy on it because I was being careful. The surround on the woofer hardly even stretched to give me the sound I was looking for. As for it's frequency, I haven't had time to really get a true test but when I played a sweep from a DTS audio package I have it was certainly detectable down to the low 20's. The drop off seemed to be below 25hz and that is fine with me. The reviews I read about the sub prior to buying it were spot on. By the way, I heard a BIC F12 before this and to be perfectly honest I think I would have been happy with it as well. If I needed a sub in a larger room with tall ceilings I would get the PL-200 no doubt but in a small room the F12 would be fine. I plan on moving the PL200 to a larger room eventually and getting a second sub as well so this was perfect. The F12 did seem to have more noticeable port noise though, meaning there was "some" because the PL200 had none. It's just made better. IMO the construction is on par with SVS and of course HSU since they had a hand in it. Bottom line, buy thRead full review

Awesome great value and it Rocks!!
Shipped in 5 days box torn and looked scary but item was in great shape, few. Have been running now for 2 days straight good low end bass great on movies and needs tweaking for music but have dialed her in and sounds great. Wife even likes it!! Don't set it up to loud and she adds great depth and detail to the bass and has more power than I really need, Nice. Top of cabinet is polished to a nice luster but it will need daily protecting to keep from getting scratched but once again the wife likes the look!!
Its a keeper especially for the price and quality. Added to some mint SDA1C Polks I've had from 1999 and just needed to cross it over at 60hz for movies and then switch it to 40hz for music and Walla. 80hz muddies everything up but the Polks are complicated and actually are pretty clean to 40hz. Fun, now its set up and just listening thanks BIC!!
FYI running a Boston Acoustics XB6 in the other corner with a new 300w plate amp and they match up nice getting a nice 115db without pushing too hard just don't want to hurt the old Polks now for a little TOOL!!Read full review
