Assassin's Creed II (Microsoft Xbox 360, 2009)
About this product
|Single-handedly take out well-guarded targets through a combination of stealth and acrobatic maneuvers in this anticipated sequel to 2007's Assassin's Creed. Featuring a new protagonist in a different era, you'll control a young nobleman named Ezio Auditore da Firenze in 15th century Italy, at the height of the Renaissance. After a tragic event befalls his family, Ezio trains to become a master assassin, looking to exact his revenge on those responsible. Ezio will explore three sprawling cities, countryside, and various small villages while completing objectives during the day or at night. Assassin's Creed II offers three times the mission types found in its predecessor, with more things to see and do within each setting.|
Money is now an important part of the game, allowing Ezio to purchase weapons, clothing, armor, repairs, and decorative items for his Italian villa. Ezio can pickpocket people, search for hidden chests, and complete side missions to fill his coffers. Other key changes include Ezio's ability to swim and even soar through the sky thanks to friend Leonardo da Vinci's flying machine. The open-ended world also allows for more free-running, climbing, and leaping from great heights. Among the new weapons at Ezio's disposal are pikes, maces, war hammers, scimitars, axes, and twin wrist-mounted blades that can be used to kill two people at once. Updated combat techniques include the ability to grab, kick, head-butt, drown, disarm, or pounce on enemies.

Great sequel to the first game, now set in Italy's Golden Age
The Assassin's Creed franchise has been one of the most favorite line of games I've played.
Assassin's Creed II continues the story of Abstergo Corps' ability to throw certain individuals whose ancestors were once assassins, 'back in time' to 'fix' history.
ACII has a wealth of interesting history mixed into the gameplay that one can read about if they desire.
What's most exciting is that Microsoft has made it backwards compatible with the newer Xbox One console, so if you have that or the Xbox 360, and you love a good story line with gameplay that allows both a linear progression mixed with a free roam world with many tasks, collectibles and challenging fight mechanics, then pick up a copy today.

First impression: ...OMG...wow
this blows assassins creed 1 out the water in EVERY way. its no longer repetitive meaning you don't repeat the same mission structure EVERY assassination.
Meaning in assassins creed 1 the whole game went like this:
1. go into a city
2. go into the assassins bureau,
3. get info about the target, kill the target, escape,
4. rinse and repeat about 10 times, watch credits...
and the setting, renaissance Italy is amazing I love it SOOOO much better than the 3rd crusade in assassins creed 1
also being able to hire courtesans (hookers) to distract guards, mercs to kill guards, throw money to distract people makes the game have a more stealthy feel.
so my rating is:
GAMEPLAY: 9.5/10: OUTSTANDING! this made me *gasp* put MW2 back in the case since release..
SOUND: 10/10 the music and atmosphere is awesome, it really pulls you into the game setting.
CONTROLLS: 8/10 some camera problems at times but its not very bad but annoying in races.
LASTING APPEAL: well iv been playing it for well over 3 days total and I'm still loving it, the dual hidden blades are SICK!
PRICE RANGE: $45 at the max not really worth the full $60 IMO but still outstanding.
LAST THOUGHTS: if you like sandbox games (gta, prototype, infamous) then you will LOVE THIS! no question.
OK well my long long long review is over..BUY THIS GAME you will not regret it!Read full review
