Portable and efficient.
I'm a big Apple fan thanks to how easy their products are to set up and use and the Apple TV is no different. Setting up the Apple TV couldn't be easier: plug it in, connect to wi-fi, sign in with your Apple ID (and Netflix if applicable) and you're good to go. It's that easy. One caveat, you need to have a fast connection - especially over wi-fi. You don't need to have the fastest thing out there, 5-6 Mbps seems fine, but if you're gonna be streaming HD content then the faster the better. If you have an iPhone I would recommend downloading speedtest.net's wi-fi speed App and testing different areas of your home to find the ideal spot to place the device, I found a foot or two can make a huge difference depending on the immediate environment.

Pros:
-Easy to set up, don't need to be tech-savvy.
-Picture and sound quality is great, especially HD content.
-Netflix and Youtube streaming.
-Works great with streaming content from iTunes.
-Airplay works like a charm. You can take a photo or video with your iPhone and immediately stream it over wi-fi to the TV. You can also play music, in sync, on your computer, TV, and speakers connected to wi-fi or stream a movie from a iDevice to the TV. Super easy.
-Works great with iPhoto and Aperture to show off your photos and videos.
-Price.
-Tiny!

Cons:
-Must have a high-speed connection
-No 1080P... yet. Could possibly be updated in the future.
-HDTV only (I figure most people who are interested in this device already have an HDTV, but still).

Overall I think this is a great addition to any entertainment system, as long as you have the internet connection to support it. An awesome little device, especially for Mac users, at a great price (especially for an Apple product). Highly recommended!Read full review

This little box integrates all your Apple devices on your TV screen!
Excellent little box but not perfect!

In the basic (not jailbroken) version you can access the Apple store (paid movies, music and TV shows) and you can access Vimeo and YouTube to watch videos. The interface is excellent and the HD quality is perfect. It just works!

Moreover, you can access your iTunes library on your Mac or PC and play music and movies on your TV. The video quality is perfect and it all works wirelessly. The audio quality IS a bit lower than through the Airport eXpress so if you're an audio freak then you might still want to listen to iTunes music on your big stereo through Airport Express. The Apple TV sound quality is just not the same in the big speakers, but "ok" for most people.

Finally, from an iPad, iPhone, iPod and even from your Mac you can stream videos, photos etc to the Apple TV and it all shows up on your TV screen. Quite impressing. iPad 2 also supports wireless mirroring so the TV screen will show an exact copy of your iPad screen all the time. The up-coming Mountain Lion supports even further options to stream from your Mac to your TV.

The jailbroken version offers a lot more content from the Internet, but the Apple software quality is gone. It's literally a mess of menus and submenus, lists and sublists, add-on programs and features, and often it can be quite difficult to remember where you found something last time. This is for the computer freak!

Also, lots of links to movies, live TV, Tv shows etc just don't work, or work one day but not the next. Or the stream suddenly breaks in the middle of a movie, and there's no way back. You have to stream from the beginning again. Here you're on your own in the exciting world of unprofessional programmers and hackers. Some people like it, while others hate it :-)

Beware of some shortcomings in this device. There is NO analog output. Only HDMI and a digital optical audio output. So if your good old stereo doesn't have an optical input then you need an A/D converter (USD 25+), or you can of course get the sound from your TV's "audio out", but this quality will vary. There is NO WAY you can stream video sound through the Airport Express while the picture goes to the Apple TV. I have even tried add-on products, but they don't do it!

Some people say that with this device you can cancel your cable TV (or whatever you have). Forget it! Where will you find your local TV programs and your sports channels? Even if your favorite channels can be found somewhere in the "jailbroken jungle" you still don't know they work when you need them. Maybe in five or ten years...

In summary, this little device INTEGRATES your big TV screen with your other (Apple) devices in an impressive way. And it offers SOME content from the Internet, however in a very unpredictable quality if you go the jailbroken way. It DOES NOT replace your cable or satellite subscription. It's cool, it's smart and you'll love it most of the time. The last star is saved for a future version where you'll love it ALL the time :-)Read full review

I love my new Apple TV product.. It's a little confusing at first but then you realize it's just like a PC (kinda) and you can very easily teach yourself how to use it.. I absolutely love it and I just got rid of my $260 cable bill because your box has everything I need!! Also, I received my item faster than expected by mail so that was a nice surprise. I will definitely buy from you again
