Unless you are a stickler for the OS, Why purchase something else?
The Transformer is great tablet. It does about 85% of the tasks that I can do on my full sized notebook. The unit appears to be sturdy and well built. Even though there are some obvious differences between the Asus Transformer and another tablet (perhaps an iPad2) fundamentally the OS, the unit performance visually equal. Once you get used to the Android platform, I can't say one unit is better than the other. I like the Transformer because it is around $200 less than the competitor. I have to assume the Prime is even more impressive. I am very satisfied with the TF101. The people who see it and try to tease about have an iPad knock off are fairly quiet once they experiment with the unit for a short time. The quiet endorsements are the most fun to watch. I purchase mine as an "open box" on EBay, so got an even better price.

I am impressed. I suppose all tablets with the hardware configuration similar to this function are very similar ways. However, I like the 5MP back facing camera. It is pretty good for a tablet, but it not a DSLR replacement. I have used ASUS in the past. I don't have any regrets with this purchase.Read full review

For less money - same quality as iPad but better functionality.
I own an iPad 2 16gb wifi+3g, and comparing to it my Asus Transformer TF101 is much better for less money. The best I consider is the ability to go into file manager and manage your files- create folders, copy/paste files, delete/move files, vs iPad, where you can only do some things only when it is connected to a computer with latest version of iTunes installed. So opennes to a user is 1 for Asus vs 0 in iPad. Screen is bigger than in iPad and higher quality, with IPS technology - wich means better blacks. 2:0 for asus. Battery life is better and there is dock station to extend battery life. Build quality is not worse than iPads, maybe plastic back is something that makes it feel a little less solid than iPad. HDMI, micro SD, 2 USB ports - you dont get that in iPad. Lots of apps, manage files directly by connecting it to computer and see it as removable storage in your file browser. Front and back cameras, though for some reason I cant make the video on Skype work on Asus. I highly recommend Asus as a tablet for anybody who is not a diehard fan of Apple, you will be happy with it. I stopped using my iPad 2 and selling it now. Android is the best! Never crashed or frozen on me.Read full review

Great Tablet, all around!
THE GOOD:
+ The screen quality is awesome, watching hd movies, playing hd games or even just regular use is an immersive experience.
+ The battery life is simply ridiculous (in a good way!). With Wifi on and basic operations the charge goes 9+ hours -- without the keyboard. With the keyboard the tablet is up and running all day
+ The Honey Comb operating system is very intuitive and very easy to get acquainted with.

THE BAD:
+ Docking with the keyboard is tricky at first, as everything must line up perfectly before the connection is established.
